Good morning! This day in Disney history March 30th, 2008. Seasons Of The Vine, an opening day attraction at DCA, closes down due to low attendance. Seasons of the Vine was an education film on the making of wine in California. The short video, narrated by actor Jeremy Irons, covers the history of winemaking in California, as well as the four season cycle on a vineyard. The former theater reopened later as Blue Sky Cellar, a preview center. To watch: http://is.gd/gtK3NV Do you remember this attraction? What did you think of it?

Very interesting. I never knew that that is what it was. Winemaking is definitely a big part of California but it almost seems as though it were out of place- like something they did to sort of fill in the space. I never did go in there but I do appreciate what it is now. It is fun to feel like an insider and see what is next for these wonderful Parks. I think it's great that they kept the vineyards and the theme. Thanks Duchess! - misschurro  6362.4 #17 8:45AM
They do still make wine there I believe...someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I know DCA used to be in a partnership with Mondavi and they only sold and served THIER wine. But in 2001 Mondavi said its role had shifted from โ€˜partnerโ€™ to โ€˜sponsorโ€™, and was writing off a $12-$13 million loss. So yes, it wasn't very popular... - Duchess_SMK  6340.7 #18 9:17AM

I've never seen this. I do know that wine making is a big part of California and its history. This is very appropriate for DCA and I'm glad they still present it. Thank you SMK!! I have another great attraction to look forward to seeing, the Blue Sky Cellar! - IMissDisney  1205.7 #144 9:02AM

I remember this very well. It was a great spot to cool off while my kids went on TOT or screamin' in the summer. My dad worked and lived in Napa for a long time so it was always nostalgic for me. After I would get a glass of wine and sit on their great patio. Thank you Duchess! - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 9:22AM

I remember going in there when I was younger and thinking it was boring... then again, I was a kid lol! But i do like how the space is being used now. It's very fun to go inside and check out all the preparations for upcoming projects by the Disney Imagineers. - rbeezy  703.0 #275 12:01PM
