From the DCA flower patch... You have no idea how many hours the camera was focused here waiting for the bee and a butterfly at the same time! Well, maybe dumb luck was more involved, but still...

I have bad reception and it took a while for this pic to load. I was expecting something like Radio Active Killer Bee VS. Mothra! Showdown in Buena Vista Street! But this this pic is pretty nice too - Philliprocks

We have a monarch grove in Pismo Beach. It is a little preserve in the eucalyptus trees where the butterflies winter. It's pretty neat. The trees look alive when they are flapping their wings. Highly suggest stopping there, if you are ever in the area. - Sugarbuzz 44.3 #3868 3:45PM
That's saddening. I love butterflies! - Jacqueline 546.7 #204 3:52PM
If you can't make it to Pismo in Goleta we have one of the largest Monarch over wintering sites in the US. The Elwood Main aggregation site had over 20,000 Monarchs this year. And yes it is an amazing site to behold. - leafs17 61.7 #3538 3:59PM
