We are thinking about getting annual passes. Premium or Deluxe, tell me your thoughts.
Premium. It has great benefits with it. Then again, it's all I've known. - wickedlyraven.

Are you someone who would like to go on the weekends and during holidays? I know a lot of Saturdays are blocked out with the Deluxe pass and also two weeks during Christmas time. Also the Premium gives you better discounts and free parking which can add up if you will be parking at the parks every visit. Just some thoughts :) - lohofosho

I've had a Premium pass for over a decade. Never regret it. But it all depends in how many times you'll visit and if you want parking. A Deluxe pass with parking added is only $60 cheaper than Premium. Plus Premium provides bigger discounts. - LilSterner

And if you do monthly payments you will hardly know the difference. - debbiev 59.3 #3582 10:13PM
We're from NorCal and have done both deluxe and premium. With the deluxe during summer we were blocked out on Saturdays, so we'd go to the beach, museums, shopping, sight see in LA, DTD, or swim at our hotel. - NikkiMickey

I'll add in my $0.02 -- take a look at when you want to visit the parks and the blockout dates. Also if you'll need parking. I find that it's really easy for me to schedule my trips around the deluxe blockout dates so I get my disney fix for less money. We always stay at a walking distance hotel so we don't need the parking. - mouseprincess

Premium is the way to go if you don't want to worry about black out days or paying for parking. Plus the extra discounts are another great perk. - KermitFan13

If your married couple, go with one of each. Since the premium one comes with parking and has better discount. That way the premium holder can do the discount thing. That's what my husby and I did. I never go to the parks without him anyway. - PixiPirateMaid

IF you're a local go premium. If you're an out of towner who goes a lot like me, get a deluxe... - lampwick

Premium works better for my NorCal Churro fam bc of having to work around school scheds - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1798.9 #42 10:19PM
Exactly. We upgraded from Deluxe to Premium due to my son's school schedule. It's so nice to not have to worry about blackout days. - LaPearleNoir 573.6 #192 8:26AM
If you're planning on going several times a week this summer, Premium. Like several said before, you won't regret it. - MommaMel

Talking about passes gets all of us MWers excited! - LaPearleNoir 573.6 #192 8:43AM
We are a family of 5, so I wanted some input before I spent the $$. Sounds like premium is the way to go. Thanks everyone! - MammaTink

If you live close enough the Premium - E-Ticket

The Bay Area is close enough for us! 😃 - LaPearleNoir 573.6 #192 8:28AM
I love the Deluxe pass, but I'm not a local. We definitely have to plan our trips around when our pass isn't blocked, but there are lots of options for us. You still get a discount on food and merch. We always stay in a nearby hotel and hardly use the parking lots, but if you do, I think that alone makes up the difference between the premium and deluxe. Whatever you decide, it's amazing and I can't believe I was not an annual Passholder for so long! So worth it. - evilqueensmistress

Premium. No blackout dates, better discounts, and parking. If you add parking to the deluxe it's almost the price of a premium anyway. Do monthly payments and even if you go once a month you're still getting in at a discounted rate compared to those without a pass. - KissDclown

premium... parking and discounts (20% merchandise, 15% food... compare to 15% merch and 10% food for the deluxe)... also the blackout date is ZERO for Premium! (especially if you go during Saturday!) - otilegna

So glad I saw this post - I have been debating the same purchase. Still not 100% decided between the two passes, but at least I can read and make a better decision -- It's me and two kids - I kinda like the idea of the premium for me, deluxe for kids - and then just plan around blackout dates. - rdaann

I'm in the Fresno area and I bought Premiums for myself and my husband because it can be difficult for me schedule a good time to take time off from work. With Premiums not having blocked days, it makes it that much easier for us to visit. We don't even use the parking feature...we stay within walking distance. Oh, and I really like to shop the merchandise so the discount is awesome to have 👜😊 - BelieveInMagic

I got us premiums, main reason when I wanted to take my son for his b-day. It was blocked on all the other passes. Having premiums means I don't have to plan as much. Can just pick a day, and go. - Lelundrial

I had a premium and it was nice. Last year that was. We used the free parking and the discounts and it worked out well. This year we weren't going to renew due to the insane price increase, but we decided we would go with the deluxe pass instead. That $200 you save is worth not going on most Saturdays. We stay close enough to walk to the park so parking isn't much of an issue (we stay at little cheap motels to save money) and the difference in the discounts isn't much, so that's not really a factor. Yeah, we have to plan a little more carefully due to blocked days, but those tend to be when the park is crazy busy anyways, so we don't mind going during the week when we can get the time off, we live too far to make just a weekend trip up anyways. So in my personal opinion, if you're willing to work around the blocked days, I'd say deluxe, the money you save going deluxe instead of premium is easily hotel and gas and food for a trip. If you go premium, it is nice still. - jamielynn

If you don't plan on going on major holidays, Saturdays and some Sundays, go for the Deluxe. It's nice having the freedom to pop in whenever you want though. - ScubaSteve028
