Throwback Thursday. Vintage. These are from 1960 & 1961. That's me riding in Midget Autopia. From 1957 to 1966 these cars were next to Storybook land. The cars were for kids around 3 to 4 years old. They ran on a track like Mr. Toad and had 2 steering wheels that did nothing but spin and made the kids feel like they were driving. The highlight was getting to the barn at the end and the doors would open in the nick of to let you drive through. Now that area is the walkway to Small World.
What great pics! Someone was quite the photographer in your family- that is awesome!! What a great bit of history- i like the barn door part. Thank you :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint

So if the steering wheels didn't work, then what made the car go? Was it on an automatic system? - BaseballMickey_CM

Yeah I imagine the same system the dark rides use. - JRDrummer_CM 792.8 #119 10:11AM

It was supposed to... like the scary train in Mr. Toad! Course, at 3 and 4 years old our grasp on reality was not all that great. :) - CobbPR 1621.9 #46 2:43PM
