starting March 23 2013, guests under age 14 will need to be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older. currently, the policy is that guests under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older. Disney is making a change to the age of admission policy for all of its US parks, including all the gated attractions at WDW & Disneyland Resort.
That's interesting. I'm just curious where you got that info. - DarthSkellington

Is this for the rides or everywhere in the parks? If its everywhere in the parks then I can see this causing some problems for a few people. My cousins don't like doing Star Tours due to motion sickness so they let their two girls (8 and 10) go on the ride with their uncle (13) while they browse through Star Trader until they come out of the ride. They have never had any problems doing this before over the last year. - KermitFan13

I would guess it would be for getting into the park - Sarafina 398.6 #335 3:00PM
We ran into problems a year ago right before DG19 turned 14. Some CMs had an issue some didn't. At the time the policy was not posted. I contacted Disney. They said they enforce it at the CMs discretion. - PrincessDuckie

I'll just tie some beads around you like a leash. - SuperCooper 818.1 #112 3:18PM
Just be sure to have your name and phone number pinned to your shirt so they know who to call for Mads to find you. ;) - ShariRenee 1505.7 #51 5:02PM
I think that is mostly when you are hanging around donniev right???? - secretagentangel 669.4 #154 5:05PM
That's the first I've heard of this. It'll be interesting to see what that means for attractions (single rider, kiddos riding together, etc). - IDVandalSkipperCM

So currently two 8 year olds can go to the park by themself. That doesn't seem safe at all. Glad to know they are putting more safety measures in. - rachelelizabeth

I couldn't imagine my 10 and 7 year olds running around the parks by themselves. - DisneyVacationLover

yes, even if you are there somewhere, that seems so young. I had a ten or twelve year old lose his aunt a few weeks ago and he was so scared and crying, I think they need to be able to see their adult, then they feel safer. - secretagentangel 669.4 #154 5:10PM
We would all be shocked to see actually how many parents drop their youngins off alone at the parks when there is no school. - Linzee

this is so true - I've seen it and I was shocked!! - Lola027 444.9 #277 4:31PM
That's the first I'm hearing of this too. The leads at Tower haven't heard about it either - CMsMom

Oops not StorybookLand, it was on Dumbo Sat night. - DisneyGrandma 338.5 #438 4:14PM
It does have some pros and cons. Some groups of kids under 14 can cause major problems with their laungage and such (you know how they can influence each other) but then there are some really respectful good kids out there that can be fully trusted to be respectful and polite. Whose right and whose wrong here??? - Pinup Princess

I hope it's true. We've seen young kids running around the parks & have asked where the grown ups are. There was one on Space Mountain who came out of nowhere. - Winnie111286

Technically in California you are supposed to only use babysitters 14 or older, maybe there is some new state law influencing this, or maybe it is the tweens group of kids who seem to go a little overboard during their spring 8th grade graduation trips. For the good teens, kind of a bummer, but it sounds like it is for getting into the park itself, not sure how then would enforce it on the rides. I think keeping the kids safe is number one though! - secretagentangel
