I have a question for everyone out there... When we measure my son he is right at 40 inches.. Are the measurements off at Disneyland or do they match up accurately
They are checked with a metal pole every morning. However, kids where different shows and seem to shrink when they are under the measuring stand. - BalooTBear

Or stuff folded napkins in his shoes. It really works - Philliprocks 276.5 #762 9:18PM
I just want to make sure they are accurate to a tape measure... And make sure they aren't like 2 inches taller but call it 40 inches - cheshirecat33

Trust CMBaloo, he knows what he's talkin' about! :) - Alicewhoareyou 536.0 #209 9:16PM
Good way to teach him to stand up straight, shoulders back, all that ...... then when he is being measured, he will be ready, I think some kids get a little nervous and duck a little. so cute when they just barely pass, they look so proud!! - secretagentangel

They had my daughter raise her hands while standing there which made her tall and straight. The CMs do try to help but also want them to be safe. Remember the rides he isn't tall enough for get a pass that will allow him to come back when he's tall enough, you have to ask for it at each attraction. - UTDISNEYFAMILY

I was once told you could go to city hall, get measured once and get a wristband so you don't have to measure up at each ride. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that? - Chavez

That would be SO awesome! My daughter always hated being measured because she'd BARELY pass and always bump her head a little. I'd told my husband that would be a great thing if they did that! - LoveDland 300.7 #609 9:45PM
Agreed! It was something I had heard, but never looked into. My son is the same way!! I think we will check into it tomorrow. - Chavez 4.3 #12195 10:09PM
I think they did this back in the 90's for a short while. - PrincessDuckie 587.9 #187 10:20PM
My daughter just made 40" exactly our last trip. She was measured at each ride where there's a height requirement. Standing tall, she passed the test; however, we were warned each time that she may be measured again before boarding the ride, and that the decision of that CM trumps all others. She was measured a 2nd time for Soarin' & Radiator Springs, but there was no issue. An older gentleman in line or RSR told me that he used to stuff folded newspaper in the shoes underneath his kids feet back in the day. - MommaMel 24.5 #4695 10:29PM
My daughter was exactly 40" (with a tape measure) shoes included. We had no issues. She was measured each time but we were allowed on the attractions. :) good luck. - CamEli

We measure our son before we leave home every time (which is typically every 3-4 months). While he measures up at home, I've noticed not all the measuring poles are on the flattest ground. Sometimes we get turned away from a ride, go back later in the day or another day, and he's allowed to ride by a different CM. Just keep in mind that the measurement might be different and don't let yourself get upset by it - duckymomo

My daughter was just barely 40 inchs when we went in Feb. She got on everything With the exception of TOT. That one I could fit a full finger under for some reason - Mrs.Jumbo

My daughter, although super brave, is very petite. It took her forever to meet the height req for Screamin, and when she did, she had the habit of ducking *under* the measure line and got denied! She fixed that habit right away :) - mouseprincess

When my daughter was going through this same thing, she never made the cut at Jumpin Jellyfish. It was a whole inch off. She would ride Space, TOT, and all the 40 inch rides except for that one. The day she finally measured up she was so happy she literally jumped for joy and bumped her head right into the measuring pole. - tballzz
