Just got to the parks and went through security checkpoint, theyre having everyone lift their shirts a little and checking belt lines. They also told a girl in front of us she couldnt bring her spiked bracelet into the park. Does anyone know if something happened recently? Or have i just never noticed them checking waist lines before?

I love when security asks women to open up a particular small bag in their purses only to find a stack of Mother Nature's bff. Must be a relief. - Jacqueline

Haha...this happened to me once and the older gentleman CM asked me "what's in there?" I told him and he said "oh never mind" and he was totally flush! - Prettynpink1023 276.4 #780 4:33PM
Gotta love when a male CM sees that. Hey- it's a fact of life and they better get used to it. But some times they are embarrassed! - LilSterner 2686.2 #20 4:45PM
I attempt to be nice and try go go to a female security guard. If the male has a shorter line, it's all out there for him. lol. We used to do that to get into great america when we were in HS, we would cover everything in our bag (because we weren't allowed to bring food in, but we brought snacks anyways) with feminine products....we'd make sure we went to a male because they'd take one look, turn red and move on. - jamielynn 142.6 #2451 5:43PM

Seeing as how my abs stretch out the shirt a bit I doubt they will need me to lift my shirt to see what they can't see already π - ribidib 424.6 #306 4:37PM

Some CMs are stricter. I've had to open my camera cover to prove that it's a camera. Never had to lift my shirt though. - LilSterner

Ill bet they r looking for the small pocket knives men clip to their pockets , it's just habit and men forget . I've seen security called a few times because of this - eviljules

My son put a pair of scissors in his backpack and i didn't notice until we had gotten on the bus from the Toy Story lot. I just threw the scissors away. (They were the cheap school scissors). - aidensmama 339.4 #446 3:25PM
i usually keep a pen in my pocket and i have to show it to because it gets mistaken for a knife - rynosaur 194.7 #1739 3:39PM
I felt terrible!!! I have one that is habit to keep in my pocket (I have a steer at a farm and I'm constantly using it) So it's become second nature to throw it in my pocket. Walking toward security I felt it and was like oh no!!! I put it in one of my little zipper bags in my backpack and thankfully they didn't notice (it's very expensive and I didn't mean any harm). Needless to say, I checked everything three times before leaving the hotel the rest of our trip. I felt terrible!! - jamielynn 142.6 #2451 5:47PM
I know a few times if my boyfriend had on a baggy sweat shirt they would have him lift it up to check.. Otherwise that hardly happens to us - MEHlanie_Mouse

Yes I have mine in my backpack you just show your badge and they don't check your bags at all - greenalien39 334.7 #464 6:04PM
I think they have to lock them up. - bluefairy 628.8 #175 6:09PM
Wrong greenalien39. You're supposed to check it in with security. - Darlingwendi 681.8 #154 6:13PM
You cannot bring your weapon into the parks and it should be secured somewhere else, if security sees it, they will have you leave. Anaheim stadium is the same way. You also cannot bring in pepper spray which some people carry on their keychain. this is to keep all of us safe so that the only people with weapons are those that are on duty working there and have training with large crowds. I have seen a couple of off duty officers get upset, but it really is just common sense to leave it somewhere secured. Dl has enough security and officers working undercover that I feel safe there! - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 6:42PM
why oh why do i keep repeating myself??:P - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 6:43PM
sorry, that was for my posts that keep double posting on me! - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 6:45PM
When you go through bag check, ask the CM to call over a security guard. The guard will escort you to lockers where you can stow yer weapon, and you keep the key with you. Before you leave the park at night, find a security guard in the esplanade and they will escort you to your locker and out of the esplanade once you have your firearm. My husband has done this whenever we stay at a hotel without an in-room safe. It is a big boo-boo for a CM to miss a firearm during bag check even if you've hidden it in your bag, so do them a favor and follow the DLR security procedures. - duckymomo 28.9 #4509 7:10PM
Yes!!^^Good advice for those traveling!!:) - secretagentangel 710.6 #143 7:20PM
Yeah, the CM told me this morning that they have been turning people away with spike shoes, accessories, or purses. The spikes size that isn't allowed is at the discretion of the CM - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet

In have some super sharp spiked shoes that common sense already told me wouldn't be allowed. You've got to wonder how some people wouldn't have that thought cross their mind. - aidensmama 339.4 #446 7:14PM
Wow, I'm surprised that this drastic change happened so fast! I was just there on Saturday, and they didn't make me do any of that! - Dufus
