Taking the train to see my girls and have some Disney fun! During the week it's only $60 each way and you see some beautiful things. It takes about two hours longer but I can sleep and play!
have a great day!!! - OhanaPhoto

I love train travel. Sometimes it's just as fast as the freeways. Where do you start out at? - Sugarbuzz

Antioch to San Bernardino, takes an hour and a half or so longer but much less gas then my car for one person and I can relax and enjoy! :) - piratelife4me 336.2 #446 1:20PM
I've always wanted to go somewhere by train... mainly Tahoe since you go through the mountains... viewing the Central Valley by train can't be much different than I-5 lol - cesium55

You should do it. Just take a nice, lazy trip. One day we hope to do the Durango to Silverton train trip in Colorado. I also have high hopes of doing the Polar Express with the grandson at the Grand Canyon. - Sugarbuzz 44.4 #3873 1:14PM
It's a nice change and kinda fun! You go through cute little towns, there is more to look at then I-5. - piratelife4me 336.2 #446 2:18PM
Great idea! The trip from the San Francisco Bay Area to SoCal has gotten boring. I do love my road trips though. I like to be able to do what I want when I want, but, I think the train would allow me to do other things I would like to do such as look out a side window. =) - FairyGrandmother

This is my second time, a client told me about how easy and affordable it was for last minute trips so I thought I'd give it another try and share the info with MW. Weekends are a llittle more, but I've found the train/bus to be clean and comfortable. :) - piratelife4me 336.2 #446 2:28PM
How much is the train? - E-Ticket

No way!! I've never been able to figure out how to avoid bussing in from Santa Barbara, maybe I am looking at the wrong line, you must not be on the Starlight Express (actually I think that one leaves from Oakland). Have a great time with your girls!! - Linzee

the starlight express leaves from Portland, actually. :) if you want to get to Disneyland from Santa Barbara just take the Amtrak from the station on state street to Anaheim, which is right outside angel stadium. - nicoleface 1248.2 #65 7:42AM
I live in the Bay Area I think the Starlight stops in Oakland which is the closest to us. I've never been able to figure out how to take the train straight to Anaheim, I'm a train flunky 😒 - Linzee 517.0 #226 7:45AM
I think it is the Pacific Surfliner that you would take. We catch it in SLO. Goes to Anaheim, no transfers to a bus or other train. We use the ART to get from the train station to our hotel. - Sugarbuzz 44.4 #3873 8:26AM
