Here is one of the best ride through videos of the old PeopleMover and Journey into Tron at Disneyland. Watchig it really give you the feel of being at the parks during the early 1990s and late 80s. Keep an eye out in this video of the old Tomorrowland entrance, StarCade upstairs area with air hockey and old arcade games. the olde Space Mountain Entrance that had the escolater going up near Captain Eo sign is now, and you will also notice all of the seating area that currently is where the line is for Space Mountain..That was there because that was actually the seating for the Space Place burger joint that is now where the Space Mountain Fastpasses are...Also in this video you can get an Ariel view of both the Sky Way buckets and below a shot of the Motor Boat Cruise and into the Circle Viison loby which is now part of the Buz Lighteryear attraction area...This video is awesome for anyone who wants to feel as if they were on this attraciton for the first time or back down memory lane
ahhhh the familiar squeak of the People Mover vehicles. Such a great way to cool off on a hot day. That has to be one of the best videos I've seen of it, thanks for the trip down memory lane. - Linzee

I have such fond memories of the people mover. It was such a great way to relax and see Tomorrowland. Plus it was my grandparents favorite. So I spent lots of time riding it with them. Thanks for posting this Dave. - Krismiss

The sights and sounds in this video will always be my vision of Tomorrowland. Sigh, and to think all of that is still sitting there doing nothing. Curse you Eisner era! - shadowgamer

Thanks so much for posting this! The memories came flooding back! My parents loved the People Mover...so relaxing and forgiving us time to visit and enjoy the sights. I remember before Tron it was a car race....you'd travel the tunnel with cars racing past you. It's hard to see, but I remember the windows where you could peer into Space Mtn and watch the "rockets" fly by. Oh, I want more! - Gia

I loved that part. it got me over my fear of space mountain as a kid and finally onto the coolest ride ever because I wanted to go on the glowing rockets too - Dawnsharks 8.9 #7322 9:21PM
Also, do notice that parts of the attraction spiel is now used on the Monorail. I guess that's its only lasting legacy (besides the sad, empty track) - shadowgamer

This is great. You can hear the Yeti in the Matterhorn quite a few times in this video. I really miss experiencing Tomorrowland in its "complete" state. - Alicewhoareyou

This was so awesome it brought tears to my eyes! I just got to relive the Disneyland of my youth. I watched it with my 4 year old and he kept pointing to by-gone attractions and saying "I want to do that" and "is that open?". Another thing I noticed is that there seemed to be more big, beautiful, mature trees that were removed during Tomorrowland's reinvention. Oh sigh. - MoonWillow

That was awesome! Thank you! It was such a long ride, wasn't it? I loved that. I can't think of any other park that would have a ride like this last even half that time! So much fun. - meridafan

Good god this brings back memories! I was an attraction host in 1987 to 1990. First on America Sings, Mars, Rockets and Mover, then Submarine Voyage and Star Tours! - BombFrog-formerCM

Wow, America Sings? I loved that attraction. What do you remember most about that? - Alicewhoareyou 543.9 #213 10:12PM
Is there a full recording of the people mover ride available for download anywhere? I have A Musical History of Disneyland but it only has a short "Nation of Wheels" that runs 1:56 while the full ride runs over 10 min. Would love to be able to add this to my ride music collection. Thanks. - friendlymouse

There actually is but its hard to find now, I will post the link for you and you can try and record it from Youtube. I have had it for years from the old napster days but there is an awesome 15 min audio of all the songs from the attraction that use to play all around the attraction without the vocals as it was background music...You can still hear some of it in the parks in the line for Autopia - Dave 8824.1 #2 10:25PM
Thanks Dave. I will keep my eyes open for your post. - friendlymouse 412.9 #322 11:49AM

I'm sad that I never got to experience this Tomorrowland, nor the Peoplemover. When I was a kid and Rocket Rods had also closed, I wanted them to use the track for a "Treasure Planet" themed attraction where you would sip along in a Solar Sailer that you could "steer", lol. Thanks for posting this Dave! I at least get to experience it through the viewfinder of a camera. - JRDrummer_CM

I hated the people mover as a child. It was my mom's favorite ride but I thought it was boring and tron scared the you know what out of me. Now looking back it was a wonderful ride and I wish it was still around so I could truly appreciate it. - aidensmama
