Back in the 1990s when the Lion King came out Disneyland debuted what would turn out to be one of its most popular parades of all time. This was not just any normal Disney parade, this parade stopped at 4 different areas along the parade route and preformed an entire show and then would move on. For those of you whom have been out to Animal Kingdom may recognize a few of these floats as they were refurbished and now used in the Festival of the Lion King Show. Here is a vid for those who never saw it
I remember this parade! It's in my top 5 favorite parades. I remember that 'The Circle of Life' show stop gave me chills, i know right a little 3 year old getting chills lol. The costumes and floats were so elaborate, overall it was a visually pleasing parade. - rbeezy

That is my favorite Disney daytime parade ever! I loved the part with the white doves. I think that's why I'm such a big fan of the Festival of the Lion King at AK. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad

thanks for posting! I've had a vague, faint memory of this parade but seeing the last float with Simba on Pride Rock made it a lot clearer! And those Rhinos are the best things ever! - sleepyhead

I agree this was the best parade. When it was running we went with a large group of friends and just a few kids. I will let you guess which part my hubby and his pals liked the best lol. I wish my girls were able to see this live. This is DG19's favorite movie. - PrincessDuckie

The Lion King Parade is a huge stamp on my youth. The Main St. Electrical Parade is unquestionably my favorite but this is the hot second. The music, the floats, the characters. Amazing. Looks like I seriously need to get down to Florida to get a small taste of what I've missed. - jacqueMeetsWorld

I remember this parade well. When I was watching it a long time ago, one of the birds on the strings got a little to close to the lamp above me and shattered. The cast member felt so bad but I thought I was fine. While walking away, someone pointed out to my mom that my shoulder was bleeding. She took me to first aid. They were beyond nice and gave me a little Mickey and I got my picture with Mickey as well. And that is my memory of the parade. - fairyshley
