Post your feedback here about Episode 2!

This podcast was a bit better than the first one. It was great to see that you took the music out of it and that you reduced the number of hosts. I think you need to start off by introducing everyone that is on the episode. I was startled when Mike spoke during the time when Cara was talking. The reason I was startled was because of the ways the voices were panned. I listen to the podcast with only one headphone in so that I can hear anything else that's going on so the panning of the voices hard right and hard left made it difficult for me. I had one headphone in and I could barely hear Cara and SPandlover so I turned it up and then Mike spoke and he was full volume. I actually jumped. Lol. I then had to switch the ear piece and then I missed the first few answers DeltaChiq had during the interview. I finally realized what was going on so I had to put both ear pieces in. I think the voices need to be panned right down the middle. I liked the addition of Cara and the interview as well. I also think that whoever is speaking needs to have experienced what they are discussing. I heard a host say a few times how they didn't go or didn't experience what they were talking about. I think they need to be experts in what they are going to talk about. I also didn't like how the podcast started off with 8 minutes or so of "commercials." I think they need to be spread out throughout the podcast. The movie segment was a bit long but I was interested in it. I also liked how mike brought up the cameo of someone in The Avengers. The only problem is that I don't know who it was. I wish he would have elaborated who he was. The limited time magic talk confused me too because a couple of times I had the thought that I might be able to catch some of it but then I realized it was already over. Maybe you should wait a podcast to discuss it so you speak in the past tense too. I really hope you take this as constructive criticism and not negative. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 1:14AM
Thank you for your feedback. The team really appreciates it! We want you to share your opinions of what you like and don't like. The podcast is a work in progress and our goal is to improve it with every episode! - Miss_E_Mouse  1433.5 #120 1:57AM
I have a scary voice to go with my scary face. It's great for reading bedtime stories though. I wrote out an outline of details from the films which I followed. I didn't realize it would go so long until it was recorded. The actor was Harry Dean Stanton. While not a leading man, he is a well respected actor. He was in such films as Alien, Repo Man, and the Green Mile. - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 7:43AM
Mike it wasn't your voice that scared me. It would have been anyone's. it was the way it was panned and the fact you were introduced. I had no idea you were there until you spoke - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 11:05AM
Also thank you for elaborating who that guy was. I know it's hard but you should think of us as novices that don't know everything and you should explain your tidbits to us. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 11:07AM
I agree with much of the above, but overall it's a terrific start. I like the addition of Cara as well. I have one additional suggestion, but maybe it's just me. Cut the length in half. An hour is a big time investment for me, but get others feed back. One way I measure things for quality is how good could I have done this. You guys did better! Good job team! 👍 - Tom  11116.2 #6 6:32PM
Mike, you have a good radio voice. Not scary. - Tom  11116.2 #6 6:34PM
Thanks for your review. I'm glad you liked hearing me...Surprise!!!😂😂😬😬 - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 7:57PM
lol, glad i wasn't the only one who got scared by Mike - MaidMiriam  308.0 #871 8:31PM
I sometimes scare myself, especially in the morning - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 8:47PM
I agree with all that Sandcar said and especially what Tom said about cutting the length in half. And hour is too long. - MermaidWithShears  1025.8 #179 7:06AM
I think cutting it to a half hour would be good too. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 1:01PM
Scooter Mike's voice wasn't scary it just showed up out of no where at a loud volume for me since I only had one headphone on and I could barely hear the girls. I hope this makes sense. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 1:03PM
I listened to the second episode last night. It was better than episode 1 (I listened to the whole episode this time an episode 1 I couldn't finish). However, I'm still not sure if these leave me wanting to listen to what's coming next. Very few of the events that were brought up had been experienced by the hosts. In my opinion, if you're going to talk about an event then someone hosting should've experienced it. Nobody had much to say about Lunar New Year other than the pics looked great. Nobody hosting had experienced the AP Magic Mornings and all I heard for 5 minutes is "I'm not a morning person" or "I always intend to when I'm there but can't get myself out of bed". Then there was talk of the Mulan screening at the Opera House, but again none of the 3 hosts had seen it there. There were a few times when posts in the lounge were alluded to for these events, but all I walked away knowing was nothing about the events based on the podcast. I'm glad I attended all three of those talked about so that I knew what it was like. I think the movie part was long and there were issues with the sound a bit. I like that much of the music was removed as well. I'm also still not certain what the focus of this podcast is. Are you just talking about the events of the week that occurred at the parks? Talking about what's happening in the future at the parks? Talking about anything Disney related? Talking about MW and what's going in in the lounge? I feel that there needs to be more focus. Lessen the topics you talk about so that you can become an expert in those topics and do your research (one person mentioned meetups for Dapper Day but nobody was certain on the times of those and that is easy to know prior to recording). Once Limited Time Magic events slow down, what are you going to talk about each week? I know that HoJo is a major sponsor, but the HoJo commercial in the beginning has turned me off both times. It takes a lot of prep and rehearsal to make something sound good. Both times I was frustrated that it sounded as though there was not a lot of prep and no rehearsal as the flow would be interrupted or people didn't seem to know who would be talking next. I like that there were less hosts- made it easier to know who was speaking. Better than episode 1, but I'm not sure if I'll spend my time to listen to the next one. - LilSterner  5455.2 #20 6:39AM
Thanks for this review!!! It's pretty spot on with what I think we need to improve on!!! - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 7:56PM
I almost didn't want to post anything because I felt bad that it's a lot of criticism. I really hope that this can become something great! - LilSterner  5455.2 #20 10:09PM
THIS! ^^^well written review. Thanks for your honesty. - Duchess_SMK  6340.7 #18 12:49PM
Thanks for all of your honest feedback!!!! Most of what you have mentioned above had already been discussed when we heard the recording before it was posted to iTunes. My normal job on the webcast team isn't a voice, but they needed someone last week, so that is how you got stuck listening to me!!!! 😬😂 I had no clue how it was going to work as I was not on the first recording, so I pretty much winged it!! So if I sounded like I had no clue what I was doing, I didn't!!! 😂😂😂 I got a hold of the script the day we recorded and noticed most of what I was to discuss I had not participated in personally. I figured the best way to talk about those topics was how I learned about them, by great posts from other MWers!! The biggest flaw I realized on our episode was that most of what we discussed, none of us had participated in. We have already decided that going forward, we will have someone that did participate in that topic be the one to discuss it. The host will also be introducing all the co-hosts at the beginning of each podcast so the listeners know who to expect to hear from. Admin has given us direction on some things he wants discussed on each episode and the Hojo is something that will be mentioned on each episode, as they are a major sponsor. We might need to come up with different ways of mentioning them so that it does not sound redundant on each episode! I do think that there was a huge improvement with only having 3 voices. It made the sound more clear and not a bunch of people trying to talk over one another. I agree that we need to make sure and do some run throughs of the script prior to the recording so it sounds more together and flows better. This is a major work in progress and we have a lot to still learn about making this better. Melissa did a great job at her first time being the host. I was scared to death, so I am sure she was even more scared!! Great job Mike as well!!! Please continue to let us know how we can improve so that you will want to keep listening!! - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 7:52PM
I thought you and Melissa did a great job. - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 8:00PM
You three did a great job after I kind of volunteered you and Mike to be in the show :P - BaseballMickey_CM  7599.7 #11 1:11PM
It's ok BBM!! I loved doing it but had no clue what I was doing!!!! 😂😂😂 I will be more prepared next time!!!! It was fun 😊 - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 1:33PM
Cara the "commercial" for the HoJo isn't that big a deal. It was the linking all the plugs together at the beginning of the podcast. I know you may want to put it in the beginning because who ever listens will at least listen to the beginning of the podcast. Maybe split them up. Have them "sponsor" a segment. I don't think you guys need to rush to put the podcast out either. You should redo it if you don't think it's good and then send it out once it's done. Maybe record a couple of "practice" podcasts. Maybe you should have a set three hosts that should always do it so that they can build a repoire with each other. Then after a while you can sprinkle in the other hosts. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 1:46PM
My question is by script do you mean a really written out script or just a list of topics to be discussed? My guess is the latter and thus one of the reasons that it sounds as though people didn't know what to say at all or who would come next. Maybe a more solid script should be developed. I also agree with SandCar that it shouldn't be rushed to be produced. Stating that the podcast is sponsored by HoJo at the beginning is fine- it's just all the information about the rates and such and the length of time that took is a little much at the beginning IMO. - LilSterner  5455.2 #20 5:21PM
Personally I thought learning more about Stroller Crew was awesome. And that everyone should come to the next Stroller Crew meet up and meet the girl on the podcast! 😂😂😂 📣📣 - Deltachiq  1232.3 #139 12:13AM
True. - madsdad  1868.2 #92 11:13AM
Please post your feedback on this post instead of the other one since I was testing a new format on the other post and it didn't work very well. - Admin 3:00PM
Easiest way to listen is with the Podcast App (on iOS). Just refresh the feed and the new episode will show. - Admin  7:07PM
I really enjoyed this episode a lot more than the previous! 3 hosts are the perfect amount, everyone was included and had about the same talking time, and it was great being able to follow along with the hosts rather than trying to guess who was talking. I really liked the reviews of the events rather than trying to make it breaking news, by the time the podcast releases its not much of news. The movie bit was too long, but real good information and was enjoyable (btw I believe Paperman was not made by Pixar, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure it was all Walt Disney Animation Studios) The StrawberryGuy interview was choppy, it was low on volume at times or some of the words would get chopped off. I really loved the mention of the specific photos and which Mwer's profile to search. It felt interactive because I would be like "I know which one that is" "I didn't know they posted that" or "I should look into that!" But I do have to say that I was disappointed by the little time the interactive question of the 'what should we name the podcast' got from the last episode and was just tossed aside this episode. I expected a more of discussion with most of the suggestions, with some talk of the process of picking the name, like some favorites, or top picks! But other than that, it was a great episode, good job everyone! - sleepyhead_CM  596.5 #341 8:17PM
thanks for the extensive and constructive review. we'll be sure to discuss the good points you've brought up! - nicoleface  1752.6 #96 8:35PM
Thanks for your review!! We hope to improve!! - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 7:59PM
I will say that so far I've had a really hard time listening to the whole podcast. I won't write a novel on it but I really think there's something to be said for rehearsal and sounding professional and put together regardless of the content. I think you're all the the right track but it needs to be organized and thought out as well as rehearsed. Also consider that non-MW listeners are going to hear this so there is an impression to make. Work on annunciation. I'm a bit nit picky from doing voice acting myself but it really does make all the difference. Also as a side note, have you considered maybe assigning a segment each week to various MWers? I'm sure we'd all like to have a chance to get involved and it would be cool to have a guest segment every week from a new MWer. They could just record it and sent it to you. Just an idea of course :). Thank you so much to all the people making an effort and taking their personal time to do this. It adds another dimension to MW to enjoy. - Poisen_Ivy  315.2 #824 3:39PM
I agree with a lot of what you have mentioned. Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback!! - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 7:59PM
It sounds to me like no one understands these people are NOT professionals, nor do they pretend to be. Are there pauses? Sure. Are there mistakes? Yep. But these are people who love DL and MW who want to share some otherwise unknown facts and features. I think the podcast team are doing a fantasmical job. Keep it up guys! - IHEARTSIMBA50  495.0 #431 12:09PM
Just for the record, they did ask for the feedback. These are rather well loved mousewaiters doing the podcasts and I know that none of the feedback is meant to hurt them or their feelings. It's just the process of soliciting ideas to ger better. these are goof folks doing the podcasts and everyone knows it! - madsdad  1868.2 #92 1:21PM
Gah. *get and good, not ger and goof - madsdad  1868.2 #92 1:22PM
madsdad is having a ton of technical difficulties today! - EpicDio  460.3 #473 1:26PM
I mean no ill will towards the podcast or the podcast team. They asked for feedback and I am giving it to them. I know they are not professionals but I am giving them my perspective on the podcast. A review that says it is perfect will not help them improve or make anything better. I am a teacher and I always ask for feedback on the things that my observer may think I may need to fix. There is no sense in them telling me the good parts. I want to know what I need to change to get better. - Sandcar13  1408.2 #122 1:49PM
Ha I know, I'm not even tired or hungry which are the usual causes. - madsdad  1868.2 #92 1:50PM
i think everyone here knows this isn't our day job but instead something we're doing because we love disneyland and we love mousewait. everyone who has written lengthy, thoughtful reviews are usually also rather well loved mousewaiters because they too want to see mousewait succeed and will help out when we ask for it. sometimes it does feel like pressure to be perfect, but not only that, be perfect immediately. i don't think it's anyone's intentions to put that pressure on but i know that we all read asking for feedback as asking for criticisms. it's great because we're going to talk about all of these issues tonight during a meeting. however, it would also be nice if people could tell us what they did like, if they liked anything at all that is. i don't wanna be presumptive here that anyone liked the podcast. haha. i don't want to scrap ideas just because no one has said it's good or they enjoyed it so i would also like to explore our ideas that are good but need developing as well as throwing out bad ones. no one's sugarcoating for us which is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow, but that i enjoy and appreciate. tl;dr i don't think anyone was doing it to be mean and please tell us what you like too! - nicoleface  1752.6 #96 2:49PM
I agree, it's good for you guys to tell us what you like, so we don't just scrap it because there isn't any feedback. But otherwise, I really don't mind all the critiques, just know like Nicole said we aren't exactly going to be able to improve everything right away.. and we know that many of the people giving us these reviews just mean well for us :] - MEHlanie_Mouse  1116.0 #162 2:54PM
After taking a few of your suggestions, we've tweaked our format a little to make it easier to listen to. Hope you enjoy! - BaseballMickey_CM  7599.7 #11 2:59PM
#3? Really?!? Awesome!!!!! *happy dance* - SPandEvLover  4531.8 #29 3:09PM
Good job guys!! - BCC  4783.2 #27 3:13PM
Everyone involved did a great job. We took your suggestions and limited the hosts to three per week. This episode definately flowed better and sounds great. - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 3:14PM
I personally thought the segment on all the movies was too long. I'd also like to see the special events news deal more with future events (I know this will be hard since the info isn't out until the week before). - CM_Shadowgamer  2515.9 #56 4:03PM
Sorry, I tend to overdo things when tasked with writing articles. - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 4:22PM
I just went to iTunes and Episode 2 is not listed. There is only one episode showing (I even followed the link you posted as well as looking directly in the iTunes store). - LilSterner  5455.2 #20 4:48PM

They could have talked more about cheese. Other then that it was great! - JungleBum  1017.0 #182 6:47PM
Ooo! I love cheese. - MermaidWithShears  1025.8 #179 6:52PM
Burnt cheese! 👍😜 - Tom  11116.2 #6 8:15PM
And I would be the one to talk about cheese too! Why didn't I think of that?!? 😂 (On a regular day at work I eat roughly 10 pieces of cheese on my shift alone lol) - SPandEvLover  4531.8 #29 8:39PM
That would have been a Gouda discussion that would have made the podcast cheddar than the rest. Could have jack-ed up the ratings. - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 8:49PM
And 👆that was punny! 😂😂😂 - SPandEvLover  4531.8 #29 9:09PM
Oh man! I like burnt cheese. I like making quesadillas with a lot cheese so it will purposely ooze out and burn - philliprocks  1319.2 #132 10:57PM
MW podcasts?! Wow! Going to have a listen tonight! Sounds like fun! 😃 - Nyghtngale  572.3 #355 7:13PM
