I was wondering how many of you are premium card holders, and how many years have you had it? I have been a premium holder since I was fifteen years old. My parents every year would get the pass for us unlimited block outs (at that time the passes cost $100 and it was way before California Adventure), till this day I still hold the tradition with my kids.
This is my first year with an AP. I decided to go with the premium so I didn't have to worry about blocked days...it's difficult enough trying to get time away from work sometimes. We live about 4 hours away, but I've already enjoyed 3 trips to the parks in the last 4 months. Before our APs, it was years between trips. Best thing I ever did 😃 - BelieveInMagic

I am a premium AP holder. 1st year for me. I've had the deluxe for the previous 2 years. Great tradition to keep! - FrankenweenieVelinee

Yup! My parents are actually surprised that I kept the tradition. Especially how things are going. I just tell them most of my child hood memories are actually in the park than out of it. - Enome 9.4 #7130 8:48PM
Ive had a premium pass since I was 13 (2001). My parents paid for it until I was 18. After that I just kept on buying them. I go by myself a lot and the parking it-self is worth it to me to have. No way am I paying $15 for parking. - goofykris

Year three and well worth every dollar. My husband did a spreadsheet the 1st year to determine all the savings etc. it more than pays for itself. You obviously have to go more than 6 times but that is a no brainer - Marciamcmouse

1st year as premium and so worth it! I love not having to figure out if I'm blocked out and I find that I take more quick trips knowing I don't have to cram it all in. Love the extra discount too! - Sarafina

That is so sweet! How close are you to the parks? My hubby is going to get us passes, but I'm still trying to decide which one we should get since we live 6 hours away. - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet

we are like 30 minutes away. which ever you getyou will not regret It - Enome 9.4 #7130 11:09PM
Have you decided? I live in Sac and am weighing the cost of deluxe vs premium. If I got deluxe I would want the parking added on for $100. So then I might as well just pay the extra $80 for the premium, ya know? - MousekaNinja 372.5 #381 11:53AM
I haven't decided, but parking was one of the things I was looking at. I live in Sac too! - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet 258.2 #941 12:12PM
Cool! Basically for the extra $80 you get in all those Sats. It's pricey, considering I don't already have an AP so it would be a new cost. But part of me thinks I might as well go premium. A tiny bit better discount in shops and restaurants too. - MousekaNinja 372.5 #381 12:35PM
I've had a premium pass for 20 yrs next month. Lots of good times! - debbiev

My parents never took us as kids .... I think I went maybe once ... So when I got married I was 18 and my husband and I started the tradition ...... Here we are 13 years later and 3 kids and still pass holders ........ My kids love it and I hope that they will always have great childhood memories :) - Pixielynn

Sad but good story. I feel the same way b/c my parents did take us as kids. Disneyland is where memories and more importantly imagination begins! Good for u & ur hubby :) - missariel33 135.4 #2564 10:25AM

First as a passholder and I got a premium. Since the bulk of our trips would be one day on the weekend. I didn't want to be blocked out. - Lelundrial

Premium for past 8 years. Was deluxe prior. Premium I've noticed is paying for those Summer Sat. when everyone is blocked and suprisingly light crowds... - snappy

1st year for me! I am hoping I can renew it in June when it expires. My brother visits Disneyland regularly so I tag along much to his dismay! It is great not to worry about admission tickets and the discounts for food and merchandise save me lots of money. - leftmyheartinwonderland

My little family has premium passes (we're lucky its just me, hubby and one child since they're so pricey), but its more by necessity than choice (I know, not like APs are TRULY a necessity) but what I mean is that my hubby and I have totally and completely opposite schedules. If we happen to get a day off together, it's usually the weekend (as I work 7am-10pm M-F) so we needed all the weekends as options! - LoveDland

This is our 2nd year with premium & we have MORE than gotten our money's worth. For us it was a no brainer: go big or go home. I like the bigger discount on food/shopping & the free parking. Also the blackouts on other passes posed a problem because all our birthdays are during holidays. - hotrodrachel
