I did it!! The number one priority today was to get a photo with the Beast. What an amazing experience, I was nervous and scared but I am so proud of myself!! My phobia is still present, but challenging myself to face the fear while I'm at the happiest and safest place to do so really has helped. Thank you mousewait for letting me share these small victories with you! xo
🎉Congratulations!!🎉😃 As someone who has/does delt with the very real fears of living with panic disorder, I know first hand what these kinds of steps really mean. It truly is a HUGE deal! I remember being able to do things like go to the post office again alone, and other things that they may seem small to others, but they are huge to us! He is HUGE! But so gentle and sweet, this was a huge step for me. My phone was stolen and recovered yesterday so I told myself (out loud) that I have already has the scariest thing happen to me, this should be cake. LOL!! You can do it!! The CMs working as character hosts were AMAZING! I explained my phobia (and when I couldn't Sara did on my behalf) and they were very accommodating. I usually don't wait for characters as my phobia usually results in a panic attack, at other meet & greets CMs have made sure to give us extra space to interact and are usually less rushed, granted I usually go to see non-face characters who have very little line if any at all and it is usually a very spur of the moment decision. well... long story... we *tried* to go on Saturday - BUT my phone was stolen Saturday morning :( So instead of getting the the parks first thing in the morning I had to track down my phone. Thank goodness for the findmyiPhone app and the lifeproof case on my phone - because as soon as it was remotely locked (the message on it was that the phone was being tracked) it was thrown out of a moving vehicle where a gentleman riding his bike found it and called me to return it - safe and sound with minor bumps and bruises.
