I am not sure if I can be on the call tonight but here are my thoughts: I don't think the length of the podcast is a problem, especially since we are going to be on iTunes where most people listen at 1.5 speed and can skip ahead. Even if the news is older by the time the podcast is released, it is still good to cover and talk about in a unique first person way because not everyone keeps up with every aspect of the News - we are not claiming to break news on the podcast, because that happens on MW, but it is ok to cover the news. I would like to hear more conversation and less reading, I think the reading comes across unnatural and the best parts were were you guys were having fun together talking about things that you'd experienced in the Park. I think 3-4 hosts is a good number, and then have different segments where you bring guests in to talk. Most of the ideas about what to talk about can be found in the Lounge, this podcast can be an extension of the conversation and the hot topics that people are talking about. I think the best part of the first podcast was when you guys talked about things that were being discussed in the Lounge, events, the epic pic of the lady on the Fun Wheel, etc. I think once a week is a perfect schedule and it will build momentum. The Skype format is fine for now, we can't do studio quality recordings at this point and Skype makes it so this can be done weekly with less work. It was confusing to figure out who was talking which is why it is good to always refer to each other by name over and over again. This podcast is not geared towards the "stuffy" Disney know-it-alls - they will listen to other podcasts, ours is geared more towards MouseWaiters, and your average Disney fans (a huge demographic), who want to know what's happening at the Park, what to do when they get there, how to use MouseWait, and how to be a part of the community. So don't try to please the 1% - go for our demographic in MW which is 70% women and Disney fans who aren't Disneyland experts. Remember to speak slow, because like I said, when this is on iTunes, people will listen to this at accelerated speeds. It might be better to focus on less topics, so you have more time to elaborate and have fun with them. Remember, the average Disney fan wants to know what to do the next time they go to the Park, what to eat, what attractions will be closed/open, AND they love to hear stories from the Park, descriptions, and live recordings. A lot of people who use MouseWait live all over the world and they love to see and hear about what is happening at the Parks - this is a huge aspect that we need to focus on. Finally, the how to use MW aspect is HUGE, along with community building. Specifically, describing how YOU use MouseWait, is better than reading something and people can relate to YOUR story rather than something you are reading to them. Hope this helps, like I said, you did a great job on episode one and it seems like the Lounge is interested in helping us make it better, thanks! -
