Since DCA is now 12 years old, here's a throwback video of the ABC special about the park. This aired in January 2001, starring Richard Kind and Barry Bostwick touring Disney's California Adventure for the first time. They are in search of Michael Eisner (then CEO of the Company) and encounter many celebrities along the way, which include John Lassiter and Patrick Warburton. Its fun to see what the park used to look like and see some of the attractions/restaurants that were there and see which ones have stuck around. And this is probably one of the last hour-long specials of the park that has been on ABC since this time. I remember recording this on VHS and was really excited to watch it, just to see what DCA had to offer. To watch the video: http://tinyurl.com/a2rmmcc

Numbers were low for attendance so every residence in Anaheim got 2 tickets for DCA. Was so fun - Plumiegirl  3345.9 #10 1:11PM

I watched the first few minutes. The special has not aged well. I need to watch it when I have some time. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #35 10:51AM
Hubby and I watched it all. So funny! It is kind of cheesy yet fun. Thanks for posting! - MrsSchnooks  580.1 #189 11:50AM
Very interesting viewing. Soap Opera Bistro looked pretty cool, but I believe it was replaced by Playhouse Disney...which was the best!! I miss the Mickey head on Screamin, but love the one on WOD. I believe Eisner was correct when he said DCA was off to a beautiful beginning, it really was, just look at it now:). Thanks for sharing, it was a nice trip down memory lane. - Linzee  517.9 #225 1:07PM
That's what we were thinking about Soap Opera Bistro. - MrsSchnooks  580.1 #189 1:21PM
