I have a question for any AP holder who lives 3 or more hours away from the park. How many time did or have you gone in one year? I figured we have to come at least 4 times to get our money out of it. I'm thinking we can make it work but is it really doable for those of us who live so far away?

Ya know once you get an AP you will just come up with more excuses to go, that's the great thing about it. I'm from Oregon and have an AP, so you better believe I'm gonna go as many times as possible. - madsdad  1868.2 #92 5:31PM
I used to live 30 mins away growing up. Never perchased an AP. would go upwards 6xs a year. Now living so far away I and having this app, I find myself needing to go more. The awesome thing is my husby loves DL too so it wasn't that big of a fight 😊 question for you: does you AP start day of purchase or first day in park? - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 5:37PM
Purchased not perchased πŸ˜‚ - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 5:37PM
First day in the park, I bought our AP's a week before our last trip and it didnt start until the first day of our trip. - madsdad  1868.2 #92 5:51PM
I live in Las Vegas & know a lot of families with AP's here & they are able to make it worth it! That's actually my goal! Someday I need to be an AP!! - SarahD005  4.4 #21240 1:53PM
Just do it! (Also from Vegas) - mlatour  347.4 #685 3:21PM
We live Bullhead City,az close to vegas - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 3:34PM
Do it! I bought an AP three years ago and make at least three planned trips a year with each trip being at least three days. By the end of the second trip the AP has pretty much paid for itself especially if you have a Premium. - KermitFan13  653.7 #306 3:39PM
PixiPirateMaid, what part of BHC? I go down there quite frequently so my cousin can do my hair. - KermitFan13  653.7 #306 3:41PM
Plus if your going on the weekends the drive isn't bad, all the traffic is on the other side of the road. - Vegaspooh  134.7 #2968 7:10PM
Well be making our 4th trip in a few weeks totaling 14 days at the parks since getting our passes in late Oct. We had to get the premium since we only go on weekends but still haven't used the free parking since we stay within walking distance. It's so worth it, no other place creates the magic that this place does. - Vegaspooh  134.7 #2968 7:17PM
Oooooo... I'm from Vegas too!! We should have a Vegas meet up!! I'd love to meet some of u!! 😊 - PinkMinnie  176.9 #2290 7:34PM
i also live in vegas and i am an AP holder. last year we made 8 trips of varying degrees. since oct when we renewed we have been 3 times and are going again for dapper day. we also have a six month old. - rynosaur  280.0 #1055 8:17PM
I Used To Live 7 Hours Away And It Was Totally Worth Having An AP! - dlmickeymouseCM  2405.8 #62 1:44PM
My mom was an AP holder and we live 12 hrs away, and she loved it! Just had to pay for food/gas/hotel. She went over 15 times last year. - LilMissPixie84  309.5 #860 1:54PM
I'm about 8 hours away. Had a AP once and went twice within a year. 4 days per trip so it paid for itself. - Woozle  51.0 #4743 1:58PM
We live 12hrs away, and we try to make it a fue times a year. We do spring break for a week. Then try a week or 2 in the summer. Then once for Halloween. The best part of haveing the AP is that if we can get away we go. And it helps my wifeys great at doing a trip on the cheep. - epyon8250  309.1 #861 2:01PM
That's what I figured. Is if we had a day with no plans we could do a turn around. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 4:08PM
Oh if I lived with in a fue hrs we would go like once a month. - epyon8250  309.1 #861 8:32PM
Last year I went 58 Times with my AP. I only live 3.5 hours away so it's worth it for me. - EpicMickey  14.6 #8728 2:06PM
OH!!! That would be so wonderful!!! - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 4:07PM
I live in Fresno (about 4-5 hours away) and my pass has more than paid for itself already! Honestly, with the discounts you get it's worth it even if you only make 2-3 trips a year - SPandEvLover  4530.4 #29 2:11PM
I live in the Bay Area, and my drive is about 5 1/2-6 hours. I go once a month/every other month and having an AP is so, so worth it. 😊😊 - DisneyFanZoe  1249.3 #135 2:17PM
That's what I was thinking about doing. On the road by 6, there by 10. Leave by 8 home by midnight. Work the afternoon shift. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 3:41PM
we live close to 5 hours away in Arizona and go about 8 or more times a year, AP totally worth it! - AZDizFanEMT  11.3 #10183 2:19PM
We live in Bullhead City. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 3:41PM
It depends in how many days per trip. But about three trips you should get your money's worth. - Mouse4life  1679.6 #100 2:22PM
I agree with mouse4life. We live 7 hours away , and we figure by the 3rd trip we are getting our $$$ worth out of the passes. We go between 4-5 times when we have passes, and we buy the deluxe ap - eviljules  1404.0 #124 2:33PM
If I could I would ! I live 5 hrs but my parents live in between . So our stop would be there . Even if its a one day trip I would ! Do it ! - jmza4  323.6 #31532 2:24PM
We live in Salt Lake city & came 4 times last year totaling 14 days. - UTDISNEYFAMILY  1901.2 #88 2:33PM
I think even 2 times can justify one if you are counting in the hotel discounts, the discounts on food and merch, and not having to buy a multi day pass. plus if you qualify for monthly payments, they do not charge interest and you get the special AP events which seem to be multiplying! - secretagentangel  4658.3 #28 2:53PM
Sorry, to clarify, you still get the special AP events if you are not on the monthly plan. Don't want to confuse anyone!:) - secretagentangel  4658.3 #28 2:54PM
You have to live in SoCal to get the monthly payments. We are planning on using our tax returns. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 3:44PM
I live in las vegas and have one for 2 years was going to renew for a 3rd but switched jobs and couldnt afford the new prices but hope to be able to get another one soon! - cheryl2324  248.4 #1375 2:56PM
Glad to see Vegas Disney Ap holders on here. I live an hour from Vegas. So we have the same drive time. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 3:36PM
6 ish hours away. On our last AP, we went 7 times - misschurro  6361.2 #17 2:57PM
We live about 6 hours away ( Bay Area ) and we go twice a year but for 5 days so we figure after free parking and the additional discounts its worth it :) - Equestrian115  212.5 #1842 3:01PM
We live in the bay as well and we go at least one five day trip and two 3-4 day trips though this year we are doing two five day trips. It's worth the money! - mcramos925  454.8 #480 3:37PM
Yea I totally agree plus the payment plan helps us lol - Equestrian115  212.5 #1842 4:10PM
If you plan two trips per pass (we buy it every other year). It is well worth the price. Parking and discounts make a difference. 5 day trip minimum. - mlatour  347.4 #685 3:19PM
We are about 7.5 to 8 hrs away and go twice a year in average. One trip 6 days the other 3 and it is well paid for (especially including the discounts). - Isis  284.9 #1014 3:21PM
We live 6 hours north in Santa Cruz and we have been so far 6 times this year and this is our first year with APs and we have really really enjoyed them! I did not think we would go as much as we did an I was very excited that we have gotten to go as much as we have and can't wait for many more trips to come! - CourtyAstroBlisters  784.0 #236 3:27PM
We live in Montana and go 3-4 times a year. APs are well worth it. - angryduck  124.3 #3140 3:30PM
I live in Sacramento and I go to Disneyland 3 to 4 trips per year and I go anywhere from 3 to 5 days each trip so I definitely get my money's worth when an annual pass - disneylover10  167.4 #2444 3:40PM
We live 12 hours away and we visit the parks at lead 5-6 times a year if not more! Each time we go we stay a week! It's definitely doable! - GitsieMouse  267.2 #1190 3:59PM
I know we couldn't afford week long trips, but maybe long day turn around. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 4:06PM
I live 7-8 hours away and have been twice already! I am planning to go again in April before my pass expires - leftmyheartinwonderland  359.9 #644 4:05PM
We live about 2&1/2 hours away and go every month... Usually haha it's well worth the money and gives you an 'I have to go' excuse ;) - FoolishMortal138  405.3 #554 4:09PM
I live in Sacramento and visited 42 days last year. - MrsMears  217.1 #1772 4:11PM
Oh my! You did good! - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 5:26PM
I work in a virtual office environment so many times I've just packed up and worked half days from my motel and spent the rest of the time in the parks :D - MrsMears  217.1 #1772 9:28PM
My boyfriend & I live in the Bay Area, which is about 6 hours away. We upgraded to APs during our trip in October, & will be taking our 3rd trip since then for Dapper Day! We plan on going at least 2 more times before renewal to really get our money's worth ;) - DanilovesDisney  12.1 #9786 4:13PM
Once a month AT LEAST - DumboGal70  122.8 #3170 5:00PM
That's what I'm shooting for at least. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 5:29PM
We live near Seattle. 2 trips a year and all of the discounts make it worth while for us...we are coming again in April and the discount for stay at the Grand almost made it worth having the AP's for the rest of the year. - garrlusdland  67.6 #4231 5:47PM
We live 8 hrs away and this is our second year with passes. We go about 4 times a year for about 5 days. We figured out that we would have to pay 3800 for tickets vs 1700 for passes. So worth it. - PrincessAuroraMomma  596.0 #342 6:08PM
6 1/2 hours for us! We've had passes several times and hope to have them again this summer. We always get them at the end if the summer and go for at least 4-5 days and then to again for several days at the beginning of the next summer. We try to squeeze 1 or 2 shorter trips in during the school year. Completely worth it! We haven't been in 2 years (financially reasons) and can't wait to be pass holders again. I say go for it! - redrockmickey  111.8 #3395 6:16PM
We are about 6 hours away and heading down for our second trip tomorrow! I think at the end we will have about 9 days total and plan to go back in June and Sept/ Oct. - MrsGrumpy2002  209.2 #1885 6:24PM
Lucky!!! Have fun!!! Drive safe! - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 8:13PM

I live 4-5 hours away in Fresno, CA. I try to make it every other month. I definitely have gotten my money's worth over & over. Now that you are on MW...you will want to go more. - Armenda  1159.7 #152 7:16PM
Girrrrrl I live 300 miles away and in 2012 I went 8 times that I can remember - Jillian  767.1 #244 7:19PM
We live in Phoenix. Had AP's since 2001. Totally worth it. I LOVE our weekend getaway! - AZDisney  610.4 #334 7:28PM
We live in the central valley. We go 4-6 times a year 2-4 days at a time. I feel we get our monies worth. - sewedna  575.4 #351 7:40PM
We live in nm are going AP this year since we visit approx every 6 months for 4-5 days at a time. We are doing deluxe which is cheaper than 2 5 day hoppers. Plus we save on meals and souvenirs. For us going AP makes sense. - girlzstylin  227.6 #1639 8:08PM
We live about 10 hours away and try to make it down 3 to 4 times a year. - with5  26.0 #6402 8:15PM
I live in Washington state. I hit the park 4-6 times a year. - 33isme  3.8 #25236 8:30PM
I live in Australia and have an AP. I make two trips to Vegas (footy season + march madness) a year and always go to Anaheim as part of the trip. Two reasons why love AP. Firstly, it works out cheaper. Secondly, it makes me proud to be that lucky to get one...... Hope your next trip is real soon!! - RapunzelledColey  138.0 #2917 9:49PM
We live 1,000 miles, or a 16 hour drive away. We have Deluxe AP's and figured we need to go about nine days, regardless of how many trips, for it to offset the cost. So far we have made two trips with one or two more planned before we expire. - NickDoubleyew  1083.2 #168 1:56PM
i go 5 times a week - CM_Oregon_DucksFan  2613.7 #51 2:59PM
haha. thats awesome!!! - ElSuperRaton  4469.4 #31 3:39PM

I live in Danville, which is about 7 Hours away. I go about once a year to every other year. - Eticket15  72.9 #4092 2:59PM
That what we usually do without the APs. I then find myself depressed and Disney hungover till my next trip. We have at least 2 visits to SoCal planned so I figured APs where a good thought. - PixiePirateMaid  345.5 #690 4:05PM
In Washington. We will have gone 3-4 times with our AP. when the year is up - dimplesdanie  1236.9 #138 8:35PM
I live in northern Cali and we go about 5 times a year but the other thing we get our money worth is the discounts on food and merchandise. - TheDisneylandman  264.3 #1222 8:40PM
