My mom had surgery on her hand last week, and the dr put on a hard cast today, he remembered she was a Disney lover, and he told her when he went with a cast, they wouldn't let him on rides! Is the true? I could see Screamin or SM, but the majority of the others, I can't see why she wouldn't be able to go on!

We can't say no to a guest pretty much unless we see they do not meet the boarding requirements. As long as the guest is able to latch their seat restraint or have a member of their party assist them, it shouldn't be an issue. We haven't turned away a guest wearing a hand cast at Indy! - IDVandalSkipperCM  1290.7 #63 9:24AM
Thanks! She loves Indy! She would definitely be bummed if she couldn't go on that :) - GarnerPhotography  321.4 #513 9:35AM
As long as she doesn't try to grab that hand rail with that hand and keeps her hand in her lap from bouncing around too much she should be ok! Make sure she pays attention to how her hand is feeling, too. If it bothers her too much you might need to stop by First Aid or grab some Tylonel! - IDVandalSkipperCM  1290.7 #63 9:41AM
My son was in a leg cast and we went on most everything. The few things we didn't go on he didn't really want to because he didn't feel like getting jostled around since he couldn't plant his feet for balance. We went sevral times while he had that cast on and we were never turned away. He needed a wheel chair because of the cast too. - Autoalice  135.7 #2506 10:31PM
I've never heard of that, is she sure her doctor doesn't have a dry sense of humor? - Linzee  515.4 #227 10:33PM
I'm beginning to think so. I'm thinking he was giving her crap, because she probably mentioned at one point we were passholders. We're going next weekend, and she spent last night panicking, for her going to Disney without going on rides would be torture. Obviously water rides are out of the question until it comes off, but like Little Mermaid and things like that, I couldn't get why it wouldn't be allowed. - GarnerPhotography  321.4 #513 9:18AM
I don't see how a hand cast will prevent someone from getting on a ride. Now if it was a leg cast I can see that happening as you would have less mobility but a hand cast not so much. - KermitFan13  406.3 #321 12:52AM
Thank you everyone! - GarnerPhotography  321.4 #513 9:18AM
Have fun! - ShariRenee  1505.2 #50 9:22AM
In December my boyfriend and I went on California screaming and he had a cast up to his elbow with his fingers bent so he couldn't grab on even if he wanted to. We had no trouble at all with any CMs on the ride. - Trinadoll87  245.6 #1045 9:48AM
