In case anyone wants to try something similar, this was an 8" exposure at f/2.8 with an Amazon cheap variable neutral density filter.
You can get a similar length exposure by stopping down, but the "tails" of the fireworks get really narrow. A neutral density filter is a great tool, they range from $15 to over $300. Mine is the $15 option. - echo_star
