My mother in law is renting a scooter for our trip in March because she has a hard time walking. I've never gone to Disneyland with someone who needs a GAC and I really don't know anything about them. How do they work exactly? What about with FPs to RSR? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My daughter has MS and cannot stand for long periods of times. We were only in DL so I don't know how DCA attractions work. We may be going there soon so if anyone knows how this would work I would like to know... - sstarlight  294.4 #642 10:34AM
When you're going to either city hall or city of commerce (DCA side), and you receive it, they'll explain everything to you. Where you need to go, what lines, fastpasses and such. If you have any questions, the friendly CMs will have all the answers for ya. 😁 - Waites4DodgerEars  659.2 #158 10:20AM
Depends on the type of GAC you get. From my understanding, some will always allow entering through the exit and others you can use the fastpass line if fastpass is an option (otherwise you use the exit). For Radiator Springs, you will need to get a fastpass directly from a CM near the entrance of the ride. They usually have a booth type stand with 2 or 3 CMs available to help. Like Waites said, the CM at City Hall/Chamber of Commerce should explain everything to you. =) - LBChica  1500.3 #52 10:20AM
I don't know exactly how it works for scooters at RSR. When we got a GAC for my Mom, who can't stand long, they told us that all the attractions at DCA can accommodate scooters and wheelchairs so you would just go through the regular line but in DL you would often go to the exit of some. They give you a list of which ones. We always had fast passes for RSR so never thought to ask but I've seen scooters in a different loading area so definitely ask. - MrsSchnooks  573.2 #192 10:24AM
This was How it was for me on the DCA side. It is true you do wait in regular lines. I'm glad that DCA is set up to accommodate scootersπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘. - Tinkerbellmom4  296.1 #633 10:36AM
All of DCA is wheelchair/EVC accisssable. Toward the end of the line, it'll break off for EVCs. On the DL side you usually go through the exit. At City Hall/Chamber of Commerce they'll give you a large card with instructions on where to load for each ride. Because the handicap aid is visible, you won't need to show anything to the CM's - GoofyMom77  108.7 #2923 10:29AM
We've used scooters twice...for my mother (needs a cane) and my husband (was on crutches). We didn't get a GAC, we would just ask the CM at each attraction what we needed to do to board. Most Fantasyland attractions we used the exits. I'm pretty sure 99% of DCA is accessible, so you wait in line in your chair, there was no need to avoid the line for us, I don't know your exact situation, but don't stress, every CM is sooooo helpful if you have questions. - Linzee  516.6 #226 10:32AM
My friend always gets a scooter at city hall and at DL you go to all the exits and go in through there and DCA is very scooter friendly so you wait in line with everyone else, unless you have a fast pass so you go in that line. But if you plan to go to downtown disney you can not take disney scooter to down town hope this helps. And have a great time πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ - minniesgirl17  22.8 #4831 11:04AM
