I don't mean any trouble when I ask, but do you know these kids or for that matter ask the parents permission to post this? Lately I've been seeing pictures of children and characters and they are not their child. I for one love this picture, but I thought it was a big no no to post pictures of strangers children on a public forum with no permission. Sorry to single out your great pic, but I thought I'd ask. - mini_MINNIE

I was just having a mental battle about this same topic. What gives with the pics of other peoples kids? - GrumpyPirateDad 502.1 #237 11:14PM
From a journalistic perspective... If a person is in public, anyone has the right to take a picture of them. According to the law, you can also actually share the image in any social media platform (reason why I did it). - JAGOfficial 50.5 #3749 11:18PM
And if it makes you feel a slight better... I did ask for permission. - JAGOfficial 50.5 #3749 11:20PM
Really so is that why when the news doesn't have permission to have kids on T V. They show them from the waist down or from far away where its blurry??? - HanLostLeia 1092.6 #76 11:21PM
I get where your coming from. I just thought this community was respectful on that sort of thing, not saying your disrespectful, but if I was a parent and found a picture of my child on a public forum and it wasn't from me I would be livid! Especially if I was just trying to enjoy a day at the park. Just sayin....carry on. - mini_MINNIE 402.1 #328 11:22PM
From the perspective of the community (or perhaps just a few in it) Posting photos of other peoples children, while priceless in their own right, tend to make some uncomfortable. It has been mentioned many times in my short time here and I was curious as to where we stood, as a community , today right now. (the reason I asked) - GrumpyPirateDad 502.1 #237 11:33PM
You asked? To take the photo? or to post it on the internet? Was said permission given? - GrumpyPirateDad 502.1 #237 11:35PM
Doubt he did either one. - HanLostLeia 1092.6 #76 11:36PM
I saw these kids earlier while eating at Jolly Holiday. I commented to their father how cute they were in their costumes. Out of respect for their privacy, I didn't take their picture or even ask if I could. I have a three year old daughter and I would want the same respect. To post pictures of someones children on the internet without their permission is just wrong. Other MWers have posted pictures of my daughter at meetups, but that was with my consent and knowledge. If you did not get permission to post this on the internet, please remove it from the lounge. - ScooterMike 1959.8 #35 12:06AM
He said he asked permission. Why are you guys getting on his case when he answered your question? - cesium55 529.7 #217 12:32AM
What was asked is not an answer nor has THE question been. We are assuming permission to post online was not specifically granted as the poster is so specific on perspective and legality yet mum on the actual concern. Question and concern were greeted with an interesting perspective. Not Illegal or against the rules just not according to the code. Guide lines not rules. As the famous cricket says "Let your conscience be your guide." I will not mind when this falls into the depths - - GrumpyPirateDad 502.1 #237 1:34AM
It is one thing to get permission to take a picture for personal use, but it's another thing entirely to get permission to post it on the Internet. There are privacy concerns since they are children. - ScooterMike 1959.8 #35 8:17AM
This will be my final responce to this thread... As I said, permission was asked even though legally I don't need to. They loved the attention the children were getting because their were no wrong intentions. They knew this would happen because they simply looked amazing. - JAGOfficial 50.5 #3749 1:26PM
since a lot of people are concerned about this photo, which is a cute photo, next time just put in your post permission to post granted by parents, even if you believe the law says different. just to save some trouble for yourself and let others know you were respectful. :) - secretagentangel 669.7 #154 1:51PM

Wow. That is scary if it is true that anyone can take your photo if your are in public and post it on the internet and it not be illegal. I can see why some people can become paranoid. - aidensmama 336.5 #445 5:37PM
I'm a photographer, and I have to have clients sign a release in order to post on my website :) - GarnerPhotography 321.4 #516 9:52PM
In this day and age, you have to expect that when drawing attention to yourself and/or your children, that people will take photos. If you are concerned about this I suggest that you be more incognito. - Sandy

No you don't.. As a parent you have the right to dress your child up in their favorite character or outfit and take a trip to Disneyland. You shouldn't have to worry about random strangers taking photos of them then posting them online without your consent. - DisneyMe2Death 607.0 #180 1:27PM

This is so cute! :D We all need to agree to disagree on this topic. He got permission and there was clearly no ill intent. We live in a digital world now and we have to accept that. I can understand people's concerns, but really...why make such a fuss over something so innocent? Anyways, thank you for posting this! - Nyghtngale

The law is on jagofficial's side when in public places. How many folks get permission for celebrity pics? How does TMZ and other like gossip rags make money? I worry about kids too but if the parents are there and permission Is given it's fine. It is a cute picture. - Plumiegirl
