I need some tips for getting thru DLR and DCA during the first official week of Spring Break March 18-24 without completely going crazy. I can only imagine the lines will be nuts. We are going to do that Tuesday thru Friday. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Get there earlier and grab Fastpasses when you can. Check out the stage shows when the parks are crowded. Don't forget the small shows that pop up periodically (Dapper Dans, Green Army Men, Five & Dime, etc) - ScooterMike  1963.0 #83 10:36PM
I think you're actually on the early end of spring break, so that may work in your favor. The weeks before and after Easter tend to be the busiest. It will still be busy, though, so make good use of Fastpass and take advantage of any early entry options you may have. Have fun!!! - PrincessKristin  780.8 #240 10:42PM
The best advice I can give you is to not fight the crowds, but just become a part of them. Don't focus too much on the fact that it is packed, otherwise you won't have a good time. Use fastpasses, have a general plan for the day, and just go with the flow. You're at the happiest place on earth, so just focus on that :) - JRDrummer_CM  875.4 #211 10:57PM
Have a plan on what you're going to do (where to eat, what shows to see, what attractions to ride). Can't stress that more enough. I've heard too many times from guests that their feet hurt at the end of the day because they cross the park way too many times because they make up the day as when they feel like doing things. Also, eat meals early to beat the rush and you can always bring or buy snacks along the way too - BaseballMickey_CM  7560.9 #11 11:00PM
I hope we are on the early end. I really didn't want to go during this time, but there was no other time we could go. We do have an early morning admission, but that would be at 7am...hoping I can wake everyone up for that! Thanks for all the tips, you guys are great. - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6186 10:48PM
It is DEFINITELY worth it, but you have to be in line about 20-30 minutes, so that is REALLY early. However, it's worth it because you get more done in those early 1-2 hours with smaller crowds than you would in 4 hours at a busier time. We always go very early, eat breakfast while in line, then go on as much as we can during those early hours, especially attractions that don't have fast passes and tend to have longer lines (Peter Pan's Flight in DL and Toy Story Midway Mania in DCA). We will also collect fast passes along the way. Then, when the park starts getting busy in the afternoon, we can go grab a nap at the hotel. Then we come back refreshed at night and use our fast passes and watch fireworks, etc - PrincessKristin  780.8 #240 11:36PM
I think 4 days is enough time to do everything even if it is crowded. The lines aren't that bad if you're surrounded by friends and family and of course mw helps too. - Twitterpated  273.0 #1138 10:51PM
That is very true! We are bringing our 22 month old for the first time too, which is making me a bit nervous. She does not like to stay in her stroller, lol. Should be interesting! I might be one of those mom's with her kid on a leash! (*blasphemy*) - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6186 10:55PM
I more worried about my husband than the rest of us. I might have to slip a little Disney magic into his morning coffee ;) - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6186 11:00PM
Great tips BaseballMickey! I did book our dinners for like 5-5:30 most nights to stay on my childrens' eating schedule. I usually don't make a ride/attraction schedule, but I think I will do it this time, just to be prepared. - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6186 11:02PM

I recently read "the unofficial disneyland guide book" it has an itinerary that works you away from the hot spots if possible. It has a guide for people with little kids or big kids. It seamed very practical! Lots of good tips too! - julietyler76  8.4 #12343 11:48PM
