Everyone in southern California is lucky to be so close to Disney, if i live closer id be there every weekend. Makes it even rougher to get tickets now that the price went up. But its all so worth it.

Alot of people who live in southern cali an that own passes can't even go every weekend. Now if they lived in Anaheim maybe. But there are a lot that live 100+ miles away and with Cali having increased gas prices it gets harder and harder to drive there. I am lucky if I get to go once a month. And we live 99 miles away. Also southern Cali is not all its cracked up to be. - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 8:45AM
And you have to realize that with higher gas prices and higher food prices and higher rent prices. And most people making min wage. Jus because people live here doesn't mean they get to go all the time. I know quite a few that have lived here their whole live and have never been to DL. I say ANYONE who gets to go to Disneyland I lucky regardless of where they live. - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 8:48AM
Seems like you've got something against living in California? - socaldad85  88.0 #3174 10:04AM
it costs us at the very least $50 a trip from san diego. grumble gas prices grumble. - OhanaPhoto  1415.0 #56 10:10AM
i love sd, wouldn't live anywhere else hehe :) - OhanaPhoto  1415.0 #56 10:11AM
I just think it's funny how people visiting from out of state (or anywhere else for that matter) think that because you live in SoCal you automatically live in Hollywood, and you are also right next door to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and LA. SoCal is actually a ginormous place! I am from Temecula and there's seriously /nothing/ attractive about that place, lol - JRDrummer_CM  792.8 #119 12:54PM
What JR? You don't like the duck pond? πŸ˜‰ - HalfCaff  67.1 #3467 1:25PM
I love SoCal! I grew up here. There's bad stuff everywhere if you want to find it. I wouldn't live anywhere else. - MyPark  944.5 #92 1:30PM
If my family and my son's dad's family weren't in So Cal I would leave. The weather is wonderful as is the ability to be able to go to the mountains or the beach in less than an hour, but she has a point. California has a lot of problems but MW is not the place for me to lay them all out. :) - aidensmama  336.6 #446 1:48PM
No nothing against Cali. Lived here all but 6 years of my life. It's kinda like what JR said. Just because we are in so cal does not mean we all automatically get to go to Disney or live close to Hollywood. I was just trying to show the original poster that not everyone is able to go just because they live in SoCal. It is really expensive to live here compared to other states. So it is harder to go for some of the ones that do live here. That's why I said that ANYONE who is able to go is lucky to go. Regardless of what state they live in. - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 3:16PM
Yeah it is! I always tell out of state folks that, and they think I'm joking. People think it's some glamorous, star-studded luxury town...ha! No. - DisneyFanZoe  1099.1 #75 3:25PM
Exact ally mrs strawberry guy! I have been there twice in my whole 24 years of living in Cali an it was only this past year. Only reason was for the Disney soda fountain pins. - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 3:27PM
Trying to afford a decent house in Southern Cali is making me hate Southern Cali. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #108 3:27PM
The only reason to go to Hollywood is to see a band perform or to have a wild night out. It's pretty nasty there but one could let loose while in Hollywood. - aidensmama  336.6 #446 3:29PM
Yup lanesparrow! I have a friend tht can only get approved for 200k. Ummm nothing is worth 200k in so cal! Unless you want to buy a shack. Lol - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 3:30PM
I feel very blessed to live in socal. I love it here, and do appreciate that I am so close to DLR. :) - tuesday737  1085.2 #79 1:28PM
I'm beyond grateful to be here in SoCal! I'm 10 mins from downtown and 30 mins from Disneyland. It takes me 60 mins to get to go snowboarding and still make it to the parks in the same day. I'm truly grateful for living here and I don't always go but I do go once a week, at minimum because traffic can be challenging but you're right I'm truly blessed to be here! - MarshaMouse  2871.9 #15 5:44PM
You would be incredibly blessed if you had a good baseball team..... Hi Marsha!!! - Slotherini  886.9 #99 5:50PM
LOL yes I would be...dodgers!!! - MarshaMouse  2871.9 #15 8:00PM

Welcome and enjoy! Sounds like you will love MW, it brings a little Disney magic to you each day. - piratelife4me  336.6 #447 8:46AM
I feel very fortunate to live in NorCal and have an Annual Pass. There are plenty of days that I wish I could just go there and maybe spend two or three hours (ha! yeahhh right!) but I feel grateful for what we do have. Have you considered an AP? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1802.8 #42 8:47AM
^^don't worry your weekly supply of disneyland churros will soon start. => - pikarich  616.3 #177 9:05AM
Im with ya Churro! I love my AP and look forward to a trip every month or so. But I do love to drive. - Sharkgrrl19  202.9 #1589 10:47AM
I live about 40min away from Disneyland and can't make it every weekend but it is nice to be so close where I can go at least twice a month 😁 - Andrie  158.5 #2174 9:03AM
We are from southwest Washington and have Annual Passes. We make sure we go enough days to get our money's worth out of them and any subsequent days are just an added bonus. I feel fortunate just to be able to go when we can, but of course, I wish we could go more often. - MightyWhitey  648.3 #166 9:05AM
I live in San Diego and only go about once or twice a month - but consider myself very lucky! - DisneyLuvinMama  221.9 #1338 9:07AM
We live about an hour away and have had passes since we were in high school. I figure thw fact that the whole drive is on the freeway helps with gas! 😁 We also make sure we go at least 3 times a year to make it worth it. Lately I've also been trying to take my two minis every few weeks on a weekday, even if we only go for the afternoon/evening. Trying to take advantage of the fact that I get to stay home with them and they're not in school yet! - DsnyPrincessMom  37.4 #4093 9:14AM
I live in the Bay Area, and I go once a month/every other month. I realize how fortunate I am, since many folks rarely or never go. I don't take it for granted. I'm extremely thankful. - DisneyFanZoe  1099.1 #75 9:22AM
I live 68 miles away in San Diego and go at least 2-3 times a month. I do sacrifice other things so I can have my Premium and yes I consider myself very lucky! - ShariRenee  1562.5 #50 9:24AM
we live in AZ almost 5 hours away and we have AP's, it's for sure worth it - AZDizFan  8.4 #7370 9:25AM
I haven an ap and I live in Arizona. It's a 6-7 hour drive but worth it! I take full advantage of my pass 😊 - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 9:33AM
Us too! I love that we can decide on Friday night to have a quick weekend at DL. We are very lucky. - AZDisney  243.3 #1073 9:57AM
We live in NorCal (6 hour drive) and got AP's for the first time last July. It has been worth every penny!! We even got to squeeze in a fun weekend trip in October that we never would've done without the passes. - Ldgsg  19.5 #5122 9:35AM
Actually not really with all this economy hitting the middle class is a tragic. Although yes being close by has advantages if you have the time and money to spend. California has been created thinking that life is a fast past and everyone is being dragged into it. I just can’t wait till I move to Texas ten minutes before Louisiana and eighteen hours from WDW. - Enome  9.4 #6996 10:25AM
I live 30 mins away and some days i want to go but im just busy at times. But overall it is nice going on the weekends when i have nothing else planned. - dmanzo425  258.6 #923 10:50AM
I live in SoCal yet I don't have an annual pass unfortunately. They're too expensive and I can't afford it. Perhaps maybe next year if I save up enough money... But don't feel bad. Disneyland will always be here for you :) - Ain1derland  325.5 #500 10:58AM
I live in nor cal we usually send time in so cal for sports so I got a pass(monthly payments) and now we aren't going to so cal for sports this season 😑 gas and hotel prices are keeping me away so I need to find a nor cal pass holder as a friend to share room and gas $ I'd go a lot if I could - lisaw  96.3 #3081 11:25AM
After living in fort mcmurray Alberta! If I even liked within a couple hundred miles I'd be there almost every weekend! Gas prices are ALOT cheaper there then here (or were when we were there) our closest city to actually shop in is 5 hours away! - Disneymomab  15.1 #5657 1:20PM
I'm California dreamin' today. We are having a blizzard here in Utah. I'm really tempted to move back in with my mom in San Diego, although I don't think my husband would like that! Lol! Hopefully, we'll be able to go the second weekend in March to the parks like we're planning. This California Girl is missing the sun! - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  324.2 #507 1:39PM
I seriously wouldn't know how to do it! I'm such a SoCal girl, snow only on occasions. I hope you can visit soon! - MarshaMouse  2871.9 #15 5:41PM
While I am thankful for being able to live in California and have a pass, I am much more thankful to have a roof over my head and job that is allowing me to gain experience. If I wasn't able to go to Disneyland I would still be ok because I am safe and healthy and that is what is important to me. - tiggertwin  317.8 #533 1:43PM
Exactly! If it ever came to passes or food on the table, we have to eat. Cali is becoming more expensive and employers are not increasing pay as often or as much as they should. But we still need sustenance and covering. So if it came down to it the passes would not be renewed. There is so much more in so cal than Disneyland and we could explore other areas (although my time with Disney is the most fun I have had) but there is so much more to experience. - ImAlwaysCrazy  646.4 #167 3:25PM
Wow thats crazy thank you for all who comment, it helps me alot - gonzofam  119.5 #2754 1:44PM
