Good Afternoon! This day in Disney history Jan. 28th,1982. Wally Boag (the original Pecos Bill) gives his last performance @ the Golden Horseshoe Revue. Preforming the show almost continuously since its opening in 1955, thus putting him in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest running stage production in show business history!
As one of Walts favorite comedic actors he landed parts on such television shows as the original "Mickey Mouse Club," "Disneyland" & "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color," as well as motion pictures, including "The Absent-Minded Professor," "Son of Flubber" &"The Love Bug." Wally also provided the voice of the Audio-Animatronics parrot, Jose, in the Enchanted Tiki Room! For more info on this Disney legend: http://is.gd/EnSm7G

Did you ever she this show? What did you think about it? As always, Thanks for reading! Hope you all are having a great day! :)
I have fond memories of my 30-something parents, aunts and uncles all going to see this show while all us siblings and cousins roamed the parks, each finding our own adventure! Very sweet memories there, even if I never personally saw the show. My dad is soon to be 82 and my mom 79. I wish I could convince them to make another trip to the happiest place on earth. Thank you, Duchess! - meridafan

I remember seeing it once as a kid, but it was so long ago. I have seen it twice since it was brought back for a short run. It's a great show that no MWer should miss. Thank you - ScooterMike

Wally Boag made the original Golden Horseshoe Review what it was, and although I was very pleased to see this show brought back to the Golden Horseshoe recently, and it was fun watching it again, Wally Boag just can't be replaced, nor did the Golden Horseshoe try... Pecos Bill was not included in the Review this month. It is a part of the show that I'll miss... But it cannot be replaced. Thank you again SMK for reminding us of another Disney treasure. - MyPark

I really wish I could have seen Wally Boag perform. I would have loved his sense of humor and style of performance. I always love watching the clip in the video shown at the Opera House that features him and the "tooth spitting". - IDVandalSkipperCM

Great post as always! I wish I had visited the Golden Horseshoe but, I am sorry to say, in the early 70's I was a teenager and only cared about the attractions. I missed so much ๐ฟ - Boundin

I was talking to a guest about him yesterday right after they saw the Tribute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue. They were sad that they didn't do the teeth spitting act because that was the only thing she remembered as a little kid, but anyways enjoyed the show - BaseballMickey_CM

That clip is also in the Main Street Opera House video with Steve Martin. I love it! - IDVandalSkipperCM 1326.5 #62 3:58PM
I have a hazy memory of the musicians getting out Ping Pong paddles and swatting away at the flying teeth. But I don't know if that was a gag that only Wally did, or if there was another actor that did the same routine? - NotSoDapperDan

As far as I'm aware it was Wallys routine only. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. - Duchess_SMK 3550.5 #10 2:23PM
