Since registration for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend filled fast I am thinking I need to book a room ASAP. Was going to splurge and stay on property, but I just can't rationalize $1000.00 (with AP discount) for 3 nights in a room I probably won't spend much time in. I am going to call HoJo tomorrow, and see what their rates are. But I wanted to ask those of you who have done the race before, where do you usually stay? Somewhere where you can walk? Are there shuttles from certain hotels? If you drive in and park in Mickey and Friends, does it fill up quickly (don't want to be late)? I could not find much info on the rundisney site. And thanks!
For the DL 1/2 last year, I stayed at the Hilton and I just walked to the starting line. For the Tink 1/2 last week, I stayed at the Clarion. The ART busses started running at 3 am so I took that instead of walking. I know that the ART shuttles stop at a bunch of hotels near DL. As it gets closer to the race, the brochures will come out with lists of hotels that have shuttle stops. I hope this helps! - PirateQueenBriezy

Did you girls stay there too? Not sure if I'll stay there again. Our room was right by the hotel's air conditioning unit and it was a bit loud...good thing I had to wake up early! Also, our heater blew the curtains up all night- very weird. - PirateQueenBriezy 291.4 #660 11:04PM
It's cheap, that's why we stay there. Plus for us we just walk across the street to the toy story lot so we don't have to pay for the art - AshleyLynn22 747.6 #136 9:57AM
Just did the Tink and stayed off property near Paradise Pier Hotel. 5 minute walk to start/finish line. Here's a link to the race info (which I wish I had earlier). It listed where race transportation picked up from. I'm sure there will be changes but just to give you an idea. http://tinyurl.com/bbt4wg4 - NikkiMickey

Thanks! That helps. Maybe I should wait for that before I book. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 11:03PM
I wouldn't wait. I saw it only a few weeks before the race. Perhaps I missed it on the website. - NikkiMickey 1583.6 #48 11:21PM
We stayed at the Anaheim Marriott Inn and Suites which has a shuttle for the Tink last year. We have also stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites for the Disneyland half last year, which was convenient because we were able to walk through the plaza to DTD. - nicholenjustin

I love the Marriott Suites. Plus I can get points. Wasn't sure about a shuttle from there early in the morning. But looks like there is. Thanks! - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 11:07PM
We stayed at the Hilton and it was an easy walk over to the starts for both 5K and Half. The ART can take forever sometimes. - Gia

Thanks! I like the idea of walking over, great warm-up. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 11:10PM
It was! Plus I would have had to get up earlier to make sure I got the ART! - Gia 782.1 #120 11:17PM
I just posted a special from Travelzoo, I hope that helps. - nicealex77

Thanks for the info. But it says it is for travel through June, and the run event is in August. But a great deal for sure! - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 11:20PM
We are staying at the HoJo. We got a 25 o/o off our stay through their month of savings deal. It's super close and a nice place to stay. The beds are cozy! - mrstoad

I've stayed there before and I agree with you. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 2:01PM
I stay at the Grand...it is worth it to me...I love lying by the pool relaxing after the run - lmirallegro

I would like to some day. But I know I will spend more time at the park than the hotel. Have fun :) - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 2:04PM
Avoid the Anaheim Plaza Inn like the plague. Some people like it but our experience for the whole 10 minutes we were there was disgusting. We love to stay at the HoJo or any Sheraton/Hilton property. - Linzee

That's what I was afraid of. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 2:04PM
I did read on the run Disney page that if you stay at a good neighbor hotel that weekend and are going to be in any of the runs, that they will have a free shuttle. - ImAlwaysCrazy

Great! Wasn't sure if it was all good neighbor hotel, or just a select few. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 2:07PM
I would still check with the. Hotel itself about when the shuttles run and double check the details. - ImAlwaysCrazy 646.4 #166 2:37PM
I was also thinking about calling Hojo but was concerned about transportation. Anyone stay there this time for the Tink? - MoonWillow

I like the idea of staying at HoJo because it is walking distance and would be great for warm up. - AZDisney 243.0 #1070 2:08PM
I have a ton of friends who have sayed at the HoJo for various Disney races and there is always a ton of people walking to the starts race morning. It's actually a cooler experience then a shuttle in my opinion. I'd definitely go with a good neighbor hotel. - SorcererMky
