Attention past and present CMs! I wanted to hear feedback from those who have worked as a cast member. I would love to audition for a face character position but I am scared that if/when I work in the park, I would not enjoy the parks as much. I have read about a lot of drama between the princesses and I am worried that if I knew the behind the scenes drama, I wouldn't enjoy Disneyland as much as I do now. I would love to make Disney magic for people in the park every day and it would be a dream come true to become a Disney princess. Has working for the mouse changed your perception of Disneyland? Any feedback will be helpful. Thank you!

Occasional guest, annual passholder or Cast member, It does not matter. It is up to each of us to value the magic. It matters not your roll in the show. If it is your dream, follow it. It is a great place in which to be involved. Consider this: somewhere there are some kids that won't be able to sleep tonight because they are going to Disneyland tomorrow, and you could be a part of making that magic happen. - BalooTBear  904.4 #97 9:07PM

Thank you, Baloo! I got chills at the idea of being able to be a part of all of the magic. Your advice was very humbling for all of us. - kayceeb  111.3 #2887 10:25PM
At first it can be a little overwhelming. Personally, it took me a few weeks to realize that I was working at what had and always be a special place. But there are still many ways to discover the magic again. If you just simply watch a character meet and greet and see kids and big kids (aka adults) and see how everyone smiles and are happy to see that character. Now, when visiting the parks, its even more fun to see the parks in a different way. And with the backstage drama, just block it out and don't get involved. If you're a positive person around your peers, others will follow. Instead, just focus on your job, which is to create happiness :) - BaseballMickey_CM  2859.4 #16 9:57PM
And listen to this guy, too! Well said! - IDVandalSkipperCM  1297.4 #63 9:55AM
Great advice! I'm naturally a positive person so that would help with the magic! Thanks for the advice =) - kayceeb  111.3 #2887 10:22PM
I am just going to put it out there that almost any job where females are surrounded by females there will be drama of some type. It happens everywhere. However, comparing being able to work at Disneyland or some other place with female drama I would choose Disney. - aidensmama  336.5 #446 9:04PM
Amen to that sister! - LilMissPixie84  35.1 #4170 9:48PM
I would say you gain a new kind of love and appreciation of the parks. :) I'm not a CM but that's what I have heard - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 7:29PM
Ashley gets it! :) - dlmickeymouseCM  2350.4 #27 10:49PM
I say go for it. Remember almost every where you go you'll find some kind of drama. How you deal with it is entirely up to you - Bambi.  595.2 #184 9:06PM
Give me your mesaurments including eye color, height, weight, skin tone and maybe I can shed some light πŸ˜‚. Also post a pic just of your face in the lounge πŸ˜‚ - Dave  8652.4 #2 10:07AM

Which character? - HanLostLeia  1092.6 #76 7:25PM
No matter your line of work, your job is what you make of it. It can still be cool and magical if you strive for that. πŸ˜ƒ - MousekaNinja  335.8 #447 8:42PM
Just go to the auditions. I went years ago and it was a lot of fun! You will meet girls that are super nice and if there are girls that aren't so nice, just try to ignore them. I don't know how bad all the drama is your talking about but, if you do make it, you can always opt out of drama and just focus on your job. If it gets to the point where Disneyland is starting to lose it's magic, then quit. Just definitely try for it, if it's your dream :). - kss4tink  216.8 #1397 8:48PM
Let me know how it goes. I want to audition for Ariel - Philliprocks  276.6 #763 9:01PM

It really is what you make it. Sure, sometimes things (such as drama) can happen, but as long as you can always look past them and remember that you, as a CM, are a big part of creating the magic, then you will always enjoy and love not only your job, but Disneyland. Creating that magic can be truly priceless. Like CMBaloo said, somewhere there can be someone who can't sleep because tomorrow they are going to Disneyland, and you could be part of making that magic happen. I hope these comments have been able to help. :) - dlmickeymouseCM  2350.4 #27 10:48PM
Yes, very helpful! Thank you for your input. - kayceeb  111.3 #2887 3:14PM
