I'm so excited to be staying at the DL hotel for our upcoming trip! We usually stay at a good neighbor, cause all we did was use it for sleeping. The DL hotel is on our bucket list and you can be sure we are going to use the aminaties! - GoofyMom77

It's a lot more expensive to stay at dl hotel but if you're a Disney fanatic, it's probably worth it. - Twitterpated

If you'd like to visit Disneyland more then once a year, like myself, a good neighbour hotel is the best!! Especially the ones along harbour blvd some are about a 5 min walk way faster then having to walk all the way through downtown Disney which you have to if you stay at the Disney hotels - steffi

If you stay at a DLR hotel, you will Get the magic mornings every day. We make sure to always take Advantage of this. You can really get a lot done in the first few hours the park is open. Having that extra hour makes it that much better! So be sure to take advantage of that if you stay at Disney hotel. - meridafan

There are times when I know we will spend very little time in the room and it is not worth paying for at DLR Hotel. Other times we have wanted a little more magic or have wanted the early entry hours (non AP holders here) so we stay on property. There is a significant price difference so it really just depends on what you can afford and what matters to you. It is fun to stay at at DLR Hotel at least once. I think they are really expensive to do every time. - AKMouse

I mostly stayed at the good neighbor hotel because of price. I stayed at many variety of good neighbor hotel and some of them are good, some are bad. Just depends if you want a place that has free breakfast so you don't have to buy breakfast or a room that has a fridge and microwave so you can bring your own meals. The possibilities are endless!! - makoto84

It purely stands on your budget. Nothing beats staying at a DLR Hotel. The Paradise Pier has the largest rooms but is farthest away and has no trams to the parks. Grand California is closest and most expensive. I personally love the original DL hotel. If your budget allows it it's a no brainer. But you can easily save 200 dollars a day and spend it on great dining and souvenirs by staying at a neighbor hotel. - splashphotoCM

My kids love the Disneyland hotel pool, and there are magic morning days most days alternating either park, if you can wake up early. Saturday and Sunday has magic morning hours for both parks. Also, while the kids are in the pool you can grab some tropical drink or beer at Trader Sam's. Also, you are right next to ESPN Zone, in which my kids love the arcade. If your budget allows--then go fo it! - tink1999

Our room at Paradise Pier was very spacious and comfortable, but I must admit I would have liked to have been able to stay at Grand Californian. We would walk through the lobby of GC to get to and from the park. - Witchie77
