Question? Why do they not cut your Minnie chocolate caramel apples in the park? Every other candy company I have been to will cut them for you but not at Disneyland. Is it a weapons concern? Because they have to have knives in the kitchen. Every time I eat one it takes me forever cuz I have to use a plastic knife.
They do not have the appropriate food service areas to cut them. Cal code requires a three compartment sink or continuous replacement utensils. - cynDOLEwhip

They can give you a plastic knife for you to cut it - BaseballMickey_CM 2826.3 #16 7:50PM
Hey thanks! I was
Just wondering because cutting it with a lastic knife
Is really really hard! :) - Belleslibrary 227.9 #1272 7:48AM
Because you are not a baybay. They may not cut your steak for you either. - madsdad
1123.8 #73 6:21PM
false. i am a baybay. someone chew my food for me too. - nicoleface 1247.5 #65 7:16PM
Ouch... I didn't read anything 'baybay' like with the OP's question. - MrsMears 212.1 #1451 7:21PM
He's just kidding MrsMears, Madsdad is almost always kidding! In a good way of course!!:) - secretagentangel 668.5 #154 8:30PM
Ok, I'm obviously under a huge misconception as it seems the lounge standards of 'kidding', IMHO, fall outside of the standards of politeness and respect. - MrsMears 212.1 #1451 8:54PM
I think we sometimes forget, not everyone knows us well enough to know this is a joke, which to many of us, it is. For that reason I think we should just think about our choice of words or adding, I'm kidding or something to not give the wrong idea to someone who doesn't know every person here. Just my 2 cents. I know madsdad is messing around but sometimes we forget others don't. - MarshaMouse 2835.3 #15 9:19PM
Well of course I'm kidding, but I also figure that since the poster is not a baby (Judging from their ability to use a computer), a just kidding would be redundant. And thank you secretangel, I really wouldn't want to hurt someone's feelings at any rate. - madsdad 1123.8 #73 9:44PM
MrsMears he is absolutely teasing. Madsdad is one the nicest and most respectful people on MW. He would never hurt someone's feelings on purpose. You implying he is impolite and disrespectful is rude. You've been around the lounge long enough to know better, and to know how we all tease each other and be silly. These kinds of comments just cause unnecessary drama. - DisneyFanZoe 1096.7 #75 9:54PM
Hmm.. an eye opening and interesting interpretation, Zoe. - MrsMears 212.1 #1451 10:08PM
Right, well I do see myself standing correct. My apologies to not only madsdad but the OP since it wasn't really for me read anything into your comments. - MrsMears 212.1 #1451 10:22PM
No worries, really was just being playful. The use of baybay instead of baby was trying to use a teasing tone. - madsdad 1123.8 #73 10:46PM
Nick needs a spanking. - donnievegas 1127.5 #72 11:16PM

Are we really going to have to explain every time we're joking around? - PrincessKristin 774.5 #126 11:19PM
I volunteer to do the spanking. 👋 - FindMeAtTheCove 237.3 #1138 11:22PM
This is absolutly a time for all the amazing minds who work for Disney to come up with a really cool machine for us to put our apples in at the parks and it can make bells and whistles and such and out comes a perfectly cut apple (kind of like it was at Charlie and Wonkas Chocolate Factory!) - secretagentangel
668.5 #154 5:29PM
sorry, kind of like it would happen if it was wonkas! - secretagentangel 668.5 #154 5:30PM
No idea. Do they just refuse? Or will they tell you why? Might want to just ask why. - MyPark
943.8 #91 5:55PM
Ya. Last time I asked why to two different CM's, yes... I ate two in one day, and try just said try cant. I asked why and they said they're not allowed and they just can't. Mysterious, no? - Belleslibrary 227.9 #1272 6:01PM
That is interesting. Hmmm, could have something to do with how they are packaged and sold. May be that they are not able to garantee sanitary conditions at the counter. It probably is not set up as a serving area and so they cannot prepare your food. - MyPark 943.8 #91 6:07PM
That could be a reason. I hadnt thought of that. All I know is the CM's kind of acted odd about it. I didn't know if anyone knew why for sure. Or if someone in the park could ask the same question and see what they're told. Maybe I just got two mysterious CM's ;) - Belleslibrary 227.9 #1272 6:10PM
CMs in food sales have several rules they have to follow. I wouldn't take it personal. - MyPark 943.8 #91 6:21PM
@MPark... That's what I was thinking. I would hate for them to cut my food with a knife that just stayed on the counter all day. Also they would have no way to wash it while working the register. - Boundin 424.6 #298 6:24PM
I know it also might depend on who their lead is. But most of the time Marceline's in DTD will cut it for you! :) - uhhliana 31.9 #4277 9:08PM
My guess is they're so proud of their work they don't wanna cut it up 😂😂 but in real life I have no idea - lostgirl7988

That's the reason why I always bring my apples home to eat. I couldn't imagine myself biting it with my teeth given how big they are.
- SafariSkewerJessica
125.7 #2636 6:54PM
I would venture to guess it is either due to not having a sanitation station set up or some sort of union rules. - MrsMears

Whether they cut them or not .. I have to try one now !! Lol ! You've made them seem so delicious !! Lol ! I've just got to taste one 😁 - eviljules

Yes, not everyone can just bite into those apples. There is just no way I would even attempt, for fear of hurting or breaking my teeth. - MrsMears 212.1 #1451 7:46PM
Good to know . Last thing I need to do is break a front tooth while on vaca 😁 - eviljules 281.2 #722 7:56PM

When I was there in October, I was seriously impressed with a woman at the next table by us outside Jolly holiday who had cut hers into nice neat slices with a plastic knife! I would have thought the knife would break for sure, but it did not! - meridafan

I mean, I have TMJ and have been told not to bite into whole apples, BUT, it's what makes me feel like a grown up since I don't have to cut up my food. For once. If I couldn't bite into an apple, I wouldn't fault others for it. Lesson learned--let's not judge each others biting capabilities and we're good. Capice? - MissMolly

Have you tried acupuncture for your tmj? I had it bad and then three sessions later it was gone. It's been almost 7 years and its still gone - Queenof2princesses 254.7 #963 8:25AM
It takes a bit of planning, but you could get an apple for a dessert first. So step one would be to purchase your apple, step two is go to a resturaunt that has real flatware like the Plaza or Carnation Cafe (you get the idea). Step three is use a real knife to cut your apple. If you're really thinking, you could recycle the little plastic bag to store your apple slices for delicious goodness on the go :) - GoofyMom77

Ya... but that involves, like thought and stuff. My head hurts. - Waites4DodgerEars 659.1 #158 8:46AM
It's a safety issue. When I worked Pooh's Corner and guests wanted their apples cut, I asked my lead if we did that. She said no bc to many CM's were injuring themselves and they did not want sharp knives around. Also there wasn't a clean area to do it with clean utensils. We would give the guests plastic knives so they could cut it themselves. Probably more injuries there, But that's why. - splashphotoCM

And if you want to be able to cut your apples follow Gibbs rule #9. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #101 8:48AM
Well, there goes my theory. 😂😂😂. Thanks splash! - MyPark 943.8 #91 8:48AM
I would think they could use an apple corer for this purpose. My friend did get an apple sliced once, might have been marceline's, but that was a while ago. - bluefairy 627.1 #174 5:04PM
Wait, is rule number nine always carry a knife or is that don't date your coworkers? I always get his 51 rules confused (unless there are more!) - secretagentangel 668.5 #154 5:27PM
