I am not mentally preparing to go back to school and teach tomorrow! (photo from an hour ago)
Thank you for all you do! Now, more than ever, kids need good instructors and strong role models. And those DL trips don't pay for themselves, lol. It's hard to go back, I'm sure, but look forward to the next trip and know that with each passing day, you ARE providing children with stability and making a difference in our crazy, mixed up world :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Thank you, Spoonful_O_Sugar. That's some good perspective there! I do love my amazing job and my 800 students (I teach elementary music). The hard thing is leaving my own 2- and 4-year-old to be with other people's kids. That's the one thing that I can never wrap my brain around, and the thought I don't like to face... I do have a really cool story about providing the stability a little girl needed (through our school orchestra) when her father was in jail this past December. Just the thought of it lifts me up. - brigeet 283.4 #725 8:17PM

Jealous @sewedna! I will face my lovely 4th graders tomorrow. 11 weeks until spring break and 5 months until summer, but who's counting? - kueenofhearts

I actually think I'm ready to get back to my kids. Did alot of working and thinking over the holidays and I'm feeling good about this upcoming semester. (Don't get me wrong, if I could go to DL tomorrow instead, I'd be thrilled). - BRabbit

I feel you on that one, I would rather be at Disneyland than go teach tomorrow! - sarah3015

Me either. I'm in severe denial right now that my break is done! Plus I procrastinated just like my students and now have lots to do. - LilSterner

It feels like it's been months since the last time I was in my classroom, but it's only been two weeks. That must mean I've had a restful Winter Break. Here's to an easy transition back into doing what we love, and just think! Only two weeks of work until our next (mini) break (MLK, Jr. Day). That'll be my next chance to escape to the parks because my brothers will have Mom Duty then! :) - susieQzee
