Day 5 of South Beach Diet. Last week fast food for dinner with See's Candy for dessert. Tonight a homemade Tomato and Leek Frittata with sugar free jello. Not quite as satisfying, but I'll get used to it. How's everyone else doing in the new year?
Glad to hear your doing well and staying on plan. You've got this. - Mrs.mouse

The frittata sounds delicious. There will come a time when you won't miss the fast food. :0)
You are making great strides! Just think how healthy and trim you will be!

Actually, the frittata sounds yummy! I'm doing well--just cutting back on junk a bit. I've been at home for the last week and I've had time to destress and go for some nice long runs, eat healthy, get my hair done, go shopping for some new clothes and makeup, etc. We got a NutriBullet for Christmas and both my husband and I are kinda detoxing after the holidays by drinking two veggie smoothies a day, and I totally feel a difference in my energy level right now. My commute is crazy this year--some days I spend 3-4 hours in the car, depending on traffic, and it made me crazy last year, so it's nice to just relax before I start back up. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Wow! My commute is now 5 min each way! I can't even imagine! Not into the veggie smoothies...IMO smoothies need fruit & ice cream (thus the reason I gain and lose). - msdizmaui 521.5 #226 10:25AM
I was so grossed out the first time I made them, but now I'm hooked! I sometimes use berries and a little bit of vanilla yogurt--they cover the spinach/kale taste and make it purple and creamy instead of green, lol. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.1 #288 1:09PM
And I'm jealous of your commute! I'm part time at two different locations, and we live in the middle of them--thinking about moving closer to one, so that I inly have a long drive two days a week, and a 5-10 minute drive the other 3, but we have a really nice rental house (built 5 years ago--3bed/3bath with two yards and a huge garden in a gated community with a pool, spa, gym, tennis courts...). It's hard to give up! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.1 #288 1:14PM
With gas still almost $5, people have to really think twice about taking a p/t job with a commute! Even the f/t ones on the other side of the island will kill you!

The frittata was supposed to be my breakfast all week, but my son ate the whole thing! Good thing it was easy to make (still not tasting as good as a croissant breakfast sandwich...). - msdizmaui
