Going solo for first time on Sunday. Going to my first meet-up. I'm really nervous. To those of you that have enjoyed solo trips any advise.
don't be discouraged when you see people interacting like they've known each other forever, we've all been in your shoes at some point. some click with others right away and some don't. be yourself and try to have fun! and its perfectly normal if you chicken out and you are standing right next to a MWer. sometimes it takes more than 1 or maybe even 2 meetups to feel kind of comfortable. you'll be fine. - toph

We had to cancel two trips to DL last month due to family illness. My wonderful husband knew that I needed alittle get away. He suggested a solo trip. Before MW's I would never have even thought of a solo trip. Now with the encouragement of so many people, I know that I'm going to have a blast. Thank you!!!!!!! - Goofygirlie

Sneak on the tram where there is room for one more, love doing that, go through shops and look at detail. Use single riders and then at meet up walk up and smile. Someone will evsbtually introduce themselves and you'll meet everyone. Be yourself and take a deep breathe. If some are very close it's only because we've been on mw for sometime now, but like Toph said, we've all been through it, I still experience it when it's a meetup with so many that are new to app. - MarshaMouse

YOU CAN DO IT!Remember you will be at the happiest place on earth! I faced my fears of being so shy and went solo about a month ago and did my 1st meet up! Have a smile, walk up and ask if they are MouseWait? If yes, they will greet you with a smile back. If no, smile walk away and laugh but don't give up. My "first" meet up, I stood off to the back watching everyone and never walked up. I was too nervous. My second meet up I took the chance and the rest is history 😊 (ps, I still get shy and I'm normally not) - aprilinjune4

I can only speak for myself but I have loved my solo trips. I did two of them in Dec, each one was several days apiece. I loved loved loved long relaxing periods of taking in the sights, music, smells, details. Single travel allowed me to ride single rider lines, move through the park quicker or get better seats on rides or attractions. Solo experiences have given me some really really magical experiences. Personally, I say going solo is just as fun as going with friends. You can really take time to enjoy yourself. Do the things you want to do: ride as many rides as you want (single rider!) or as few, take time to sit and people watch if you please. The possibilities are endless. You really notice more detail and a different kind of Disney magic when not having the "distraction" of other people with you. And dont be scared of MWers!! Everyone I have met has been so so kind and welcoming. - OneDayAlice

I have only been with MW for a few months (since October 2012) and my first meetup was the Birthday Bash--yes, the most popular meetup of the year (besides ChurroVonCinnamon's... lol). I felt a bit lost and uncomfortable at first but that feeling soon disappeared because I was surrounded by very kind and awesome MWers. I now have personally met over 20 MWers and after that single day I was ecstatic about going to more meetups in the future.
