Hi everyone. So I booked a room at the Desert Inn and suites for our next Disney trip a couple months ago and I'm just now reading the reviews and they aren't so good...has anyone else stayed there? Was it a good experience?
I've stayed there countless times too; nothing fancy, but as close to the parks as you can get without doing Disney & sleeps many; parking can be tight, and most is in underground lot-but totally doable on the cheap. Manager is Carlos (haha-used to stay a lot when my kids were young and he'd give me his best rate-but AAA usually good). They have viewing deck for fireworks. Try HoJo too. - TinkerSchelle

Pretty much took the words outta my mouth - exactly my thoughts on the pros and cons of the Desert Inn and Suites. Another pro is that they are probably the most affordable suite-type rooms within a reasonable walking distance. - mouseprincess 307.9 #572 8:47AM
We've stayed there a couple times and had no real complaints. Complimentary hot breakfast and a clean bed so wasnt too bad. Plus really how much time do you actually spend in the room? - DisneyMe2Death

True. I Heard It's Noisy...Is That An Issue? - LennaH 120.4 #2726 7:22PM
We didnt have a problem with noise and we stayed there I think 3xs within the last year or two. - DisneyMe2Death 607.0 #180 7:36PM
When reading reviews on hotels I try to keep in mind that people are more likely to post the negative more than the positive! - MJmouse

I've stayed there many times. It's a 3 star hotel so it's not great but its clean, quiet and very close walking distance. The rooftop deck has a great view of the parks and fireworks. The elevator takes forever during checkout hours. I've also stayed at del sol, tropicana and carousel. They are similar but desert inn was the best out of those ones in my opinion. - Twitterpated

We have stayed there at least 3 times in the past 2 years and had no issues! It's always the first hotel I check when planning a visit! Can't beat the location. Have fun! - ibmickeyfan

Just stay away from the Alamo. That place is sketchy! I checked in and checked out within 10 mins. 😷 - AshleyLynn22

I would stay away from Motel 6 Maingate as well. I know Motel 6 isn't 5 star accommodations but they were in the news for some undesirable activity going on there. Just a heads up! - leftmyheartinwonderland

Oh We Stayed At The Motel 6 In October And Yeah It Was Horrible. - LennaH 120.4 #2726 7:58PM
I stay at the Motel6 every single visit and I was there the weekend of Nov 1st when the 'undesirable' activity happened. I have never experienced anything sketchy at Motel6 Anaheim, ever ever ever. I only found out about that activity when it hit the news here in Sacramento. That same type of 'undesirable' activity happens at every hotel, don't be fooled. I would stay at the HoJo as they are the official MW sponsors however, HoJo doesn't have the type of rooms that suit our family and I've had nothing but professional experience with M6. They are a Disney Good Neighbor hotel as well. - MrsMears 212.1 #1452 8:06PM
I stayed at Motel 6 in October too and it was really loud and one of the comforters had a burn on it. I only stayed one night. The "undesirable" activity happened recently as well. I just wanted people to know! - leftmyheartinwonderland 272.5 #807 8:07PM
Eddie caught Jessica and Marvin playing patty-cake over there... - NotSoDapperDan 303.3 #592 8:09PM
I stayed at Motel 6 twice in October, twice in September, twice in November and I was just there last week and the week prior and it suited us perfectly. - MrsMears

I'm glad that you had a nice stay. My brother always stays there when he visits. I was just explaining my experience and what I read in the news. I know not all hotels are perfect (except Disney Hotels of course😄) - leftmyheartinwonderland 272.5 #807 8:13PM
Thanks for sharing your experience, too. I think it's great that the MW participants can get so many first hand reviews. Certain locations will suit different family types. - MrsMears 212.1 #1452 8:18PM
I never heard about this undesirable activity but when we stayed there the beds were rock hard, our room had bugs, and it was super noisy - LennaH

We stay there once a year at Halloween time. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms are outdated. The location is perfect. I feel you get what you pay for, it is usually very cheap to stay there and that is what you are getting but it does the job of a place to shower and sleep. Parking is very tight and limited. - TheDisneylandman

I'm Sorry, Are You Talking About Motel 6 Or Desert Inn? - LennaH 120.4 #2726 9:00PM
Stayed there this summer. Was quiet and clean. The free breakfast was not much but it was free. Haha. Would totally stay there again. - fromthejaw

I've stayed at the desert inn a few times. The rooms have always been clean and I've never had a problem with noise. Plus it's close to the parks. - Krismiss

Didn't mean to thank this but what does it matter? your just going to sleep there right? Most of your time should be in the parks :) at least that's how I would see it. If your saving money then more stuff you can treat yourself in the parks :) - Hendizl

You're Right, I Just Wanna mMake Sure It's Clean And Comfortable - LennaH 120.4 #2726 8:26AM
We stay there every time now. It's close and cheap! We usually only nap, sleep and bathe there :) sometimes it can be noisy when kids are running by because their parents don't control them but most of the time it's fine. My kids sleep through the night fine and so do we. We prefer it because with it being cheap we can spend more in the parks and also enjoy multiple trips! Hope you have a great trip!! - brodysmommy

We stayed there's few months ago. They upgraded is to a suit which was unexpected and nice. The walk to Disneyland wasn't very far and the breakfast was way above par. The only down side was that our suit was located on the lobby and right next to the elevator. One of the rooms in the suit was pretty much unusable because it was soooo noisy. You could hear everything that was going on in the lobby. Other than that it was great. I would stay there again. The beds were super comfy too. - Belleslibrary

Cheap places are the best! As long as they have hot water, you're good
