AP holders: on average, how many days a month (or year?) do you enter the park? If you live in SoCal, do you recommend the discounted AP, or the passes with more dates (Premium or Deluxe)? I live 6 hours north right now, and we had APs last year, and made a total of 7 trips (26 park entries). We're likely moving 30-60 min from the DLR in 6 months, and am debating my pass options. Any input welcome.
if you can i would recommend premium - toph

I have a premium pass and I usually go about 2-3 times a week. - SorcererD91

My husband and I have the premium. It is well worth it for us. Saturday is our date night and we are there almost every Saturday night. Plus I go every week with my cousin. - susiet23

I go about once a week. I have a premium. After having premium the past few years I don't think I could go down to one of the others. Maybe a delux pass since I usually got Friday nights mostly but I wouldn't go down to the other two. I just find it that after you add parking to any of them especially delux, you might as well just get a premium. Lol you said, since your teachers you're off times are basically the busy times so I would go delux or premium. - TikiJOSEsWingman

Oh yeah--parking! We used the free parking only a few times last year, because we always stay in hotels within walking distance; however, we won't stay in hotels at all when we move. Well, we can afford the Premiums, but I was just mulling over if a SoCal pass would be more reasonable--prob not for our situation. - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 6:07PM
I tend to go on days ending in "y". Once you've had a premium, nothing else will do - ScooterMike

I had a feeling...we've been spoiled with the Premium passes, living 300 miles away...I'll probably be there all the time when only 45 miles away! - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 10:07PM
I'm about 25 minutes away and when I'm lucky, I go once, maybe twice a week. The premium pass is awesome because parking is included and I never have to check to see if my pass is blocked. I love going whenever I want. - Vegan7LuvsStitch

When i was a passholder, i always visit the park every other weekend. Saturdays is the only day i can spend a whole day inside the park (also during a holiday long weekend), that is why i will vote for PREMIUM passholder - otilegna

And i am from San Diego who always take the Amtrak train. - otilegna 854.6 #106 10:44PM
I think if you move closer to the parks you will find yourself going more often. If you can afford to go premium I say do it! :) My bf and I go about 4 times a month. We've had the the premium APs for a few months now and it's really worth it. The discounts are also a plus :) Whatever your choice is enjoy since you will be close to the parks! - LuvsMimisHouse

Thanks! We had premium passes this past year--and LOVED having them--but the price is double that of a SoCal pass. We are teachers, however, so I'd see us going during the days the SoCal passes are blocked, so that may not be an option... - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 5:36PM
We like the so cal. It's basically blacked out during te busy times, or when kids are out of school. Holidays, Saturday, and summer and Xmas. - Normstar

So, when do you go? We both work, so we'd only go on weekends or school holidays. Do you go in the evenings after work? - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 5:40PM
You can go on many Sundays. - aidensmama 336.3 #442 5:52PM
Yeah me too i have the so cal i dont go everyday and i don't like going on the summer n busy days. I like going on off season so the so cal works 4 me n my kids because when regular school starts my kids get vacation because they go to Jewish school. So it all depends on how your schedule is. - mante90 6.2 #8875 6:28PM
My friend had a premium. When it was time for her upgrade she went all the way to the basic pass. She regrets doing it everyday she can't go. - Waites4DodgerEars

She should upgrade it. - meridafan 1032.6 #84 7:07PM
We have premium and go a few times a month. We tried Deluxe once but nothing worse than wanting to go and it being a blackout day! The premium also gets you extra discounts on food, hotels and stuff! - InnerMeow

Once a month--really?? I wish! I live in the Central Valley, and have only made it 7x in the last year :-/ - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 10:43PM
I've made 5 trips this year, 4 on my AP, and many times, I can only make it on the weekend, so I went for the premium. Shop for your visits, and compare what makes sense for you. - ThatKimberly

What started out with a promise of once a month has turned into 2 and sometimes 3 visits a month. We live 3 and a half hours away so our trips are always 1 or 2 night stays. and of course we do the occasional impromptu turn around trip... we've come to realize we're addicted Premium Pass the only way for us to go - DumboGal70
86.0 #3193 10:39PM
The same thing happened to us. I bought Premium passes in 2011 because we wanted to do one holiday trip for 5 days and one trip for the 1/2 marathon weekend. 4 more planned trips and one impromptu birthday trip later, and we definitely realized we were hooked. And this is with us living 6 hours away! - MommaMel 24.5 #4689 10:47PM
im an app holder and in a week ill go like 2 times or just once depends on who wants to go but i also live only liek 25 min away - Hendizl
