##News-- The Rose Bowl teams (University of Wisconsin and Stanford University) will be visiting DLR on December 26th. There will be a special ceremony at the castle at 2 pm. As a result of this event, the front court of the castle will be closed from about 12:30-3, Main Street Vehicles will stop running at 11:45, and the Horse Drawn Trolleys will not run that day. Hope some of you in the parks are able to get pictures! Go Badgers!

Correct. It refers to the color because they changed their name, as used to be known as the Stanford Indians. In the 70's Native American students and those that were around the area felt try were being mocked by the mascot, this ending the Indian mascot and becoming the Stanford Cardinal. - Slotherini 886.9 #99 9:19PM

Just to clarify, from 1972 to Nov. 17, 1981, Stanford's official nickname was "Cardinals". I refer to them with an s because during that time my uncle was their quarterback and played in the Rose Bowl. So yes, today there isn't a s, but there was in the past. - MagicalRN 116.4 #2787 10:30AM
