Good Afternoon! This day in Disney history, Dec 16th, 1983. The 25-minute short "Mickey's Christmas Carol" (a personal favorite) is released. A Disney version of the Charles Dickens tale, it is Mickey's 1st appearance since "The Simple Things" in 1953. The short features the final performance of Clarence Nash as Donald Duck (the only character in the film to be voiced by his original actor) & the 1st performance of Wayne Allwine as Mickey Mouse. I love this version of Dickens' classic, I mean it has Mickey playing Bob Cratchit! What's not to love! Thank you SMK for another great TDIDH! I learn something on each one. - MyPark

I do believe you are right! He was named after Ebenezer Scrooge. His fist appearance ever was in the comic strip "Christmas on Bear Mountain" in 1947. - Duchess_SMK 3278.0 #11 12:35PM
An annual favorite! Thanks for the details. - DisneyPhotoFan
