The last three days have been tough, with the passing of our beloved Dahulagirl, and the tragedy in Connecticut yesterday. We are blessed with a special community that can come together in celebration; we can mourn together, and we can keep the memories alive of people who've passed. When you remember how special Janine was (and still is) to the MouseWait family, think about the newest person who posts in the Lounge, and the potential friendship that exists there. I remember talking to Janine, E818, and Shangz at the very small MouseWait Birthday at the Hearthstone Lounge. They told me that they loved to plan events and would like to help plan the next one. Not too many months later, we were filling up ballrooms at the Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel. Janine fiercely protected MouseWait, she gave countless things away in an effort to make the community a special place, and she started the trend of giving things away in the Park (something even Disney has recently adopted). Janine and E818 spent countless hours sharing the magic of Disney Studios and other places with people who would otherwise never get a chance to go. So many people have asked me to create a separate RAK land, and I won't do it - because NO OTHER community is as generous as MouseWait and I want the newest person to experience this the first time they open the Lounge. I pray for E818 and Shangz during this challenging time in their lives. I know from experience the pain does not go away, but the friends around you make it better. I ask all MouseWaiters to continue the tradition of meeting new friends. You might feel as if you've met your "friend quota" on MouseWait and that you don't need to welcome anyone else into your group, but please just remember what it was like when someone welcomed you to MouseWait and how that felt. Don't abandon the thing that made MouseWait great or you could miss the blessing of meeting someone like Dahulagirl. It's sad for me to see people move away from the thing that brought them so much joy in the beginning. Just think about how many people stuck around to find true friends in MouseWait simply because Janine gave them a warm welcome in the Lounge and a big hug in person at a meetup. Janine will always be remembered, we have her posts and memories stored here in the Lounge, and her spirit of generosity will always live on through MouseWait.
I've stayed away from comments both about Dahula and Sandy Hook Elementary.. as even just typing this triggers tears. I am deeply sad and so so sorry to hear about a close passing from our community. I'm sad that I didn't get to know her and it hurts me to know so many 'virtually' surrounding me are feeling such a loss. True shinning spirits are so rare and I so wish this loss weren't so. Janine, you've left little bits of your spirit among some epic people. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you through them. Rest in love. - MrsMears

OMG!! I didn't know her, I never even had the opportunity to be in contact with her. But I just watched her video and she looks like an amazing person. I have been on MW for years now and still only have 20 something points yet I feel like a veteran because while I may not post I am always on here reading and laughing. Dahulagirl is one of the first MWers who made me fall in love with this app. Her generosity in park RAKs opened my eyes to the Magic of Disney being shared by others. This app has made me feel like I am not so crazy for wanting to be at the parks every single day and never getting tired of it. My heart goes out to all who are suffering but in honor of Janine I vow to RAKing throughout the new year and coming out of my shell to meet many MWers this year. My Thoughts and Prayers are with her friends and family. I did not know her personally but seems like she touched a lot of people. I am new to this and still not great with the app but i just logged in to try and learn the computer and surf around.
