RIP: Dave Brubeck. I just found out that this legendary jazz pianist and leader of the infamous "Dave Brubeck Quartet" just passed away today. In 1957 he recorded "Dave Digs Disney", which was an album of jazz covers of well known Disney songs. I realize not everyone on MW is familiar with jazz music. However I bet most have at least heard "Take Five", as it is probably the most famous jazz number of all time. Take some time out to experience great music. - ScooterMike

It's amazing what they can do with modern technology when remastering old recordings. They lose the old "hiss" from the tapes and bring out the music. - ScooterMike 1959.8 #35 10:48AM

Wow! Thanks for the link! I grew up in a very musical house, and have listened to a lot of Jazz so I'm pretty excited about this! My dad is a professional musician, my kids and I all play, and always have music going in our home. Hopefully iTunes has this Disney album! Thanks! - 7mouskedoodles

I am greatly saddened with the loss of Mr. Brubeck. I played in my high school jazz band as a set drummer for 4 years, and we played many of his pieces. His music and contributions to the genre will not be forgotten, and neither will he. - JRDrummer_CM
