I just looked up this issue and it seems to be a hardware issue and they are giving new phones out for it if you take it to the genuis bar.it also happens on occasion for phone calls on my speaker phone and nobody can hear me at all...I googled it and there was a lot about it on the apple forums...made my appt tomorrow..like at the Soundgarden show, two songs were fine but one was no sound, same with when we sung happy bday to BBM, cut in and out - Dave   8640.6 #2 9:04PM
