This Cali-girl just booked 1st ever family trip to DISNEYWORLD!!!!! Omg! Omg! Omg! ... Any tips? Recommendations? ...from my Cali peeps that have been there? We'll be in the parks (single park tix) 1/7-1/10 :D

I have been twice and for 8 days each and still felt like we did not see it all. Where are you staying? SO MANY great restaurants there too! FUN! - ShariRenee  6394.4 #15 6:05PM
16 days in all is nt enough. We need to plan for our next visit :) - otilegna  2317.0 #58 11:32PM
Head over to the MW WDW side. They will be sure to any any questions you have - timonT  351.0 #21 6:34PM
Did that 1st. Just wanted some tips & info from my Cali folks that would know & understand the differences. :) - SallyToHisJack  88.8 #3666 2:41PM

I'll let U know after my trip soon! - iamdugsmaster  878.7 #195 5:57PM
Yay!! Congratulations!! You're going to have so much fun! I did this back in 2010! If ur staying on property, take advantage of the dining plan and extra magic hours! I made reservations to dine in the castle at MK in Cinderella's Royal Table and it felt like a dream! If I were going now I would try Be Our Guest! Illuminations at Epcot, also dining at the Coral Reef in Epcot, Hollywood Studios: I did a dining reservation to watch their Fantasmic to compare, I also loved their beauty and the beast show.. I loved Expedition Everest at AK.. Whatever you do, I know you'll have a great time! :) so excited for you!!! - SarahLovesDisney  82.6 #3779 6:09PM
Two days are needed for Epcot- SO much to see. The other three parks are fine for one day. Splurge at fancier places to eat because the foods are fantastic there- especially Epcot and Yak and Yeti in AK. - WendyLVSNana  90.4 #3642 6:21PM
Make your dining reservations ASAP if you want to go anywhere with table service. - bluefairy  643.3 #293 6:26PM
This. The first thing i did was make reservations for the places we wanted to eat. It is how we picked which park to go to which day. - Pixarprincess  541.0 #362 6:40PM
Yes book your dining ASAP. Keep in mind depending on the hotel you stay at (if stay on property) it takes a while sometimes to get to the park. Try going g to some of the other hotels to eat there. The Contemperary has dining on the roof and you can try to get reset ratio s during when the fireworks are going on. - luv2bake  144.5 #2740 6:38PM
Have a fun trip! - MeridaFan  3585.2 #37 6:39PM
My wife and I went twice this year. Was great both times. If you got a meal plan with the package...good...its completely worth it. Ditto on more than one day for Epcot. Kids will love the animal park and Hollywood studios is a good time although very small. And of course you can't stay away from the magic kingdom. Have a great time. - Kenton  11.9 #9216 6:54PM
Dining plan is great! At the Animal kingdom do the safari first thing in the morning-most animals are out, awake and feeding. Make sure you ride all the rides - some of them are quite different from Disneyland. Take in all the shows-they are great and sometimes overlooked. Need more than one day for Epcot-did Animal Kingdom in one day easily (crowds were lite). Spent most time in Hollywood Studios-loved the rides and atmosphere. - missyandpaul  269.6 #1114 10:59PM
Since you are doing one park per day. I would visit them in this order : 1. Epcot, 2. Hollywood Studios, 3. Animal Kingdom and 4. Magic Kingdom. Reserve character dining first, Chef's Mickey is similar to Goofy's Kitchen. Reserve now, that one gets booked fast. At Epcot I loved the food at Nine Dragon's in China. I got the tofu and veggie stir fry. I would reserve Sci-Fi diner at HS. I also enjoyed that menu. Hit the Toy Story Mania first thing when arriving to HS. That is all I can think of. - Lelundrial  583.4 #327 11:15PM
Oh if you get a reusable travel mug. Hold onto the receipt. You can refill it at any of the hotel quick service restaurants for free during your current stay. Also do not skip Club Cool at Epcot, and make sure you try the Beverly. - Lelundrial  583.4 #327 11:47PM
i would also benefit from this! going in march. - nicoleface  1752.6 #88 11:28PM
Make a reservation asap! (Especially if you want Cinderella's Royal Table). Get their photopass plus if you are into pics (Attraction pics, Character Dining Pics and even photopass in general... You will also get a CD compilation of WDW pics as well). MAXIMIZE your time and try to wake up early! Go to DTD after the parks close. I will say do park-hopper option, but i you decided one park/day, check WDW schedule. They should have it already. In general, JUST ENJOY YOUR VISIT THERE - otilegna  2317.0 #58 11:31PM
Single park tix are probably the way to go. Park hopping there is kind of a pain. You'll notice some differences between the "land" and the "world" version of the same attractions. Make sure you go on the Aerosmith roller coaster in Hollywood studios. Have a great time! - MissAcroBRAT  246.7 #1337 11:42PM
If you are already a premium pass holder, consider upgrading to premiere. For a couple hundred bucks, you can be a coast to coast ap and be a little more spontaneous and you can go again before it expires if you find a good deal. Like, if you get done at the studios by 2, you don't have to feel like you must wander around for the rest of the day, you can go back to Epcot. However, it's not like park hopping over here, everything is FAR away from each other, but it's nice to have the option. Pack an empty suitcase for all the tchotchkes you WILL buy and carry it on when you fly home. - bluefairy  643.3 #293 12:32AM
Aerosmith rockin coaster is a must! - ShariRenee  6394.4 #15 8:09PM
Do the single park pass! It takes all day to do everything in one park. Take advantage of the magic hours given to people who stay in the hotels. Make sure to do the best ride ever; Maelstrom! It's in Epcot! Use the photo pass as much as possible. Let the professionals take the lasting memories. I used the photo pass and my own digital camera. Do not pay for any buffets. They are expensive and the food sucks! Use fast pass as much as possible! Fast pass is a must for Test track, the rock n roll rollercoaster, tower of terror, and Everest. Do the safari first thing in the morning or get a fast pass at animal kingdom. The safari gets packed. If you shop and don't want to carry the bags, you can have your souvenirs sent to your hotel. Good service! Take an extra bag on the trip for souvenirs. Have lots of fun!! :) - Captain J  221.9 #1654 11:45PM
Must do's: Walt Disney: One Man's Dream at Hollywood Studios, New Fantasy Land at Magic Kingdom, Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom, Wishes or whatever fireworks version is going on at Magic Kingdom, IllumiNations at Epcot, California Grille at Contemporary, Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios. Should do's would be Animal Kingdom's Kilimanjaro Safari, Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios to see the differences, Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Country Bears Jamboree at Magic Kingdom, Walk around Downtown Disney (theirs is MASSIVE). I can't comment on any newer attractions or places to eat that were added since last year but I'd venture to say that Be Our Guest is fantastic. As stated above, TAKE TWO DAYS for EPCOT and I'd say Animal Kingdom as well. There is SO much detail in those two parks that you can miss a lot with only one day. Keep an eye out for DiVine at Animal Kingdom, she's hard as heck to spot. - CM_Shadowgamer  2469.0 #49 1:08AM
Oh, and just a little tip that most don't know. If you eat at Contemporary and can't get a reservation when the fireworks are going on at Magic Kingdom, you can still come back that night and watch from the Observation Deck. - CM_Shadowgamer  2469.0 #49 1:09AM
Oh my goodness! This is why I love this place so much. You guys are so awesome! Such helpful hints! Since my husband & I are paying for EIGHT people for this vaca, we are only getting single park tix. That's why I want as much useful (awesome) info & tips. We are taking advantage of the "extended magic hours" provided by the resort & will visit parks in the following order for that reason: 1/6-Magic Kingdom 1/7-Epcot 1/8-Universal's Island Adventure (we're nerdy HP fans too. Lol) 1/9-Animal Kingdom 1/10-Hollywood Studios. Obviously, I know we will probably run out of time...steam...& MONEY before we get a chance to see & do everything. But with all your expert help I know we will certainly make the most of every second/cent ;D - SallyToHisJack  88.8 #3666 2:37PM
Has anyone stayed at the RV Park at Disneyworld? We want to take our son in July 2014. But was trying to figure out if the overall coast was cheaper to RV in vs the Disney hotels and flight costs. - DisneyFanatic728  13.0 #8751 2:45PM
I'll be there also during that timeframe ...when I get home later ill give you my recommendations and tips....can't believe this will be my 4th trip to wdw in less than a year πŸ˜‚ l - Dave  13237.9 #2 3:07PM

Disneyland unFORECAST (BETA) is here! Top MouseWaiters giving you the rundown of what's happening at the Disneyland Resort. The unFORECAST now has its own page on the web www.unFORECAST.com

unFORECAST for the week of August 31, 2015
Look for light crowds this week until Labor Day weekend begins on Friday. Disneyland and California Adventure will close early for the second week in a row (DL 9pm, DCA 8pm). Looking back at MouseWait's Historical Crowd Index (available in our new MagicPlan iOS Calendar), this week last year averaged in the high 50s (approx 60% capacity) -- that means it was a very slow week. Even Labor Day last year (which fell on the 1st) averaged in the mid 70s, which is light for a holiday. Now that most schools are back in session, we should see lighter crowds at the Parks until Halloweentime begins! To get a real-time look at crowd levels, check the MouseWait App for Crowd Index averages and wait times. Have a great week! - Admin Aug 31, 2015 9:23PM
