So, the plan was to pick up my 7 year old son from school and surprise him with a birthday trip to Disneyland today. When I told him he simply said he would rather go to Toys R Us and use his gift card to buy Legos, then come home and hang out with me. Is it bad that I was totally bummed he didn't want to go? I did!!!! Oh, well, it is his birthday.

I would have been bummed a little... I would have tried convincing him that there is a Lego store in DTD. Sometimes kids just seem to like the simple things, especially if their parents are pass holders and go frequently. - BambooMike 129.3 #2639 4:20PM

I tried everything, but he just didn't want to go. It's ok. The gift card he had was specific to Toys R Us, so the Lego Store in DTD wouldn't work. I was hoping he would want to spend his actual birthday at Disneyland. I know I would...but again, it's his day, not mine. - goofymom2boys 498.2 #242 4:32PM
