Just curious for the parents out their of toddlers... My friend sent me a link from something she read about a mom posting that the height requirements outside of each ride is different. She stated that star tours is the only one true to be 40" and the rest are uneven due to the pavement.. So was just wondering if anyone that has/had a toddler about 40" exactly if they ran into any problems. The lady stated inside each ride the height was accurate but the outside poles aren't.. Just wondering if we will run into any problems when we are there. Thanks!!

Disney height restrictions are in place for the safety of the smaller guests and the decision is at the sole discression of the Cast Member at the attraction. It doesn't matter if you think it is the correct measurement or not. - MyPark  946.4 #94 12:03PM
I believe this was written in 2010 so not sure if they have changed recently... But the lady also stated that she had 'managers' come out and measure each ride and they were all different, tower, soaring, thunder mountain, Matterhorn... - brodysmommy  246.3 #1062 11:50AM
the matterhorn was changed to 42" after the refurb - pikarich  677.6 #158 11:57AM
Yeah I know that, just listed it since she said it was wrong too - brodysmommy  246.3 #1062 11:57AM
correct me if im wrong. the height is off about 1/2 inch to an inch. whenever our son micheal would reach the next height milestones (without shoes) he could not ride because measured at the resort he would miss it by that much even though we knew he was the right height.we got some clariffication, that the poles are measure daily but when you go on certain rides the way you sit you must meet this height but it changes a bit sitting down and the safety restraints have to be at a minumun spot for it to work properly. so in final its all about the safety issues and concerns. hops this helps - pikarich  677.6 #158 11:54AM
michael now is about 41-42 and goes just above the marker now - pikarich  677.6 #158 11:56AM
That makes sense cause I've found them to be a bit inconsistent. I found it really depended on her shoes too. She wore her boots one day and was just over the mark and got to ride but the next time she wore sandals and was just shy. I'd say make sure your child wears the shoes that make him/her tallest. But remember, those height restrictions are there for a reason, your child's safety. Don't push it if he/she isn't quite tall enough yet. Disneyland isn't going anywhere and attractions can be ridden at a later time :) - Nicole  380.2 #362 11:54AM
Yeah last year Brody was 35" but when he wore his tennis shoes they said he wasn't. But with his boots he was good to go on Matterhorn (then being 35") and also the coaster in toon town. So just checking for the 40" stuff when we go next - brodysmommy  246.3 #1062 12:05PM
Yes. When my so was exactly 40" we noticed some were slightly taller than others. When were rejected off of some ride, we came back later and got a second opinion from a different CM. it was frustrating at times but we got him on all the 40" rides. - Mouse4life  1086.2 #78 11:57AM
Ok. Yeah the lady said if you can get past the entrance ones, the ones inside are more accurate. So I just wasn't sure if we would run into any problems. I can understand that t some times the kids don't stand up correctly etc but just wasn't sure if anyone else experienced it before - brodysmommy  246.3 #1062 12:04PM
its sad when you know they can get on but its for safety and its exiting when they finally can go.but cm have giving our kids a reward they like its a ride card with a disney character that says sorry you cant ride and come back with a party of six to ride. so far we got a stitch/star tours and goofy/goofy skyschool - pikarich  677.6 #158 12:06PM
