I did use the Search Feature and i dont see any post about this so i will give it a shot. 72 years ago today, November 13, 1940, Walt Disney's 3rd Animated Feature, FANTASIA, was released. Originally titled, THE CONCERT FEATURE, it is considered an innovation during its time due to the development and use of "Fantasound" (precursor of Surround Sound) for its roadshow release. It is a combination of the talents of Disney Animators, conductor Leopold Stokowski and Philadelphia Orchestra and Deems Taylor. One of the famous segment, the Sorcerer Apprentice, was planned to be a Silly Symphony short. But, due to its cost, Sorcerer Apprentice became part of a feature film, together with 7 other segments. What is your Favorite Fantasia segment?
I will always have fond memories of my grandma taking me to see Fantasia when I was around 8. So when Disney rereleased the movie in 1990 I took my husband who I was dating at the time to see it. He fell asleep during the movie. I guess it wasn't for him. Thanks for the post.😄 -

Still one of my favorite Disney productions! Although I wasn't terribly impressed with the "Sorcerers Apprentice" with Nicholas Cage. -

The dance of the hour was ALWAYS my favorite! Remembering when i was little, i asked my mom for a pink tutu so i can dance like the hippo. Hahaha. I always thought she was cute, especially how ben ali gator admired her lol this scene will never get old for me, wait, the movie itself!!!! -

I always loved the ancient Greek one with the drunk man/goat, then Zeus throwing lighting bolts. That one was my favorite! -

I have no idea about which scene is my favorite. I love them all. What I remember most about this movie is putting the tape into the VCR, getting my 3 babies their pillows and blankets to watch it, and the next thing I knew was 2 hour naps for all of us. I still have the tape, and can't wait to share it with our grandson. -

Thanks so much for posting this! Fantasia is my favorite film! (I'm a music major.) So neat to find out it was released on my birthday. And we are birthday buddies too! -
