#NEWS!! starting tomorrow; there will be a new policy regarding Disneyland attractions, children under 7 years of age must ride with someone over the age of 14 in the same row instead of an actual adult.. the previous Toy Story Mania policy was that an adult must be in the same vehicle.. there will be a sign near the entrance informing guests of the new policy.. there will also be cast members at the ride exit surveying guests about how they feel about the policy..

The policy of "Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a person 14 years of age or older" is in the Tour Guide to DL/DCA for a long time. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 11:45PM
So I guess it's not breaking news...lol - VfxGenie  1353.0 #59 11:47PM
Over the age of 14 is an adult now? So 15-17? 😏 - cesium55  529.7 #216 12:46AM
Just messing with you 😉 - cesium55  529.7 #216 12:56AM
I take this to mean previously a child under 7 had to be accompanied by a grown up but they lowered the age to 14. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 1:09AM
^ THIS. You are correct sir! - iPoca.  905.6 #96 11:37AM
I mean, my land always had that policy, but I other attractions had other exceptions. It's been a rule, but now it's being enforced everywhere. - iPoca.  905.6 #96 11:39AM
Cool - GrumpyPirateDad  495.0 #240 10:07PM
Cool RSR single rider will be faster!!! - nicealex77  226.0 #1289 10:28PM
I was told for rsr that you had to be 7+ to ride alone. So I would think this wouldn't change anything as far as the single rider line goes. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 10:34PM
RSR has a height restriction, but I know of no such age restriction. how would that be regulated anyway? - MyPark  943.7 #91 10:37PM
They ask my son how old he is every time we use the single rider line. Of course a kid could lie, but I guess they assume most children are honest. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 10:41PM
If you are there, why do they need to know you son's age? Sorry... I am not understanding. - MyPark  943.7 #91 10:47PM
I am talking about the single rider line. She said the single rider line would be shorter because of this rule but the rule has always been you have to be 7 or older to use the single rider line. When we get into the single rider line the cm asks my son how old he is too make sure he is old enough to go without me. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 10:51PM
Nevermind. This is all part of the new rule. - MyPark  943.7 #91 10:51PM
They ask all younger kids how old they are in the single rider line, even if they are with an adult bc they could be split up. - caramiapoohAKAface  1440.5 #54 10:52PM
Now I feel dumb... sorry to make such a big deal. - MyPark  943.7 #91 10:56PM
No worries. It happens to all of us sometimes. - aidensmama  336.4 #444 11:05PM
Great idea! Hopefully they will maintain parent swap for those with young children who have been sending their kids on their own. - tiggertwin  317.8 #528 10:52PM
As far as I know rider swap is only offered on attractions with height requirements. - lostgirl7988  541.3 #208 11:16PM
Surveys are my department and I haven't heard anything about us being at the exit. Investigation commence! - lostgirl7988  541.3 #208 11:06PM
Since DG19 was 13 I let her take Lil One on the kiddie rides without me (usually while I was hold a place for a parade, etc). Last Dec 2011 they waited in a line for awhile and the CM asked DG19 her age and of course she said 13. They said she could not board without an adult. Lil One was devastated. She got me and they let us board through the exit. I asked the CM why this policy was not posted and he didn't know. So I emailed Guest Relations and they responded that they were not going to post this policy, it was up to the CM to enforce on a case by case basis. Huh? So only some 13 year olds can not ride with a little kid? Many of you know DG19 and there is NO way she acts immature in a ride line. Anyway it does not matter now, she is 14 but I was upset. - PrincessDuckie  586.7 #187 6:01AM
And I did ask them to post this policy to avoid upset Lil ones I still don't understand why they won't. ETA that was the third ride that day just the two of them, the other rides and on days previous she was never asked her age. - PrincessDuckie  586.7 #187 6:06AM
My 6 yr old is always with my brother (he's 15), but Dakota (just turned 13, but looks 17) takes the 2 yr old in her "car" all the time on tlm and no ones ever said a word. I understand why they do it though, and I'm so paranoid with my kids, one of the 3 adults or my brother has to be with the littler 2 at all times on a ride - GarnerPhotography  321.4 #513 6:39AM
My 3 year old's favorite thing to do is sit by herself in the front seat of the caterpillar while my husband and I sit in the back. My boys get a car to themselves. This is going to make her sad :( - Autoalice  135.7 #2508 11:13AM
Probably a good idea for obvious reasons... however when we were on Thunder Canyon RR about a month ago, two siblings, probably 9 and 14, were literally duking it out with us in front of them and their parents behind them. I think I trust a 7 year old more than I would trust those "adults". :P - Simmeltron  176.3 #1909 11:44AM
Thunder Canyon RR? 😜 - BambooMike  121.8 #2695 12:14PM
Is this for all attractions or just TSMM? - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 12:13PM
