This would have NEVER been able to happen with Michael Eisner as CEO. Lucas has said he is done, he knows that the company will be in good hands with Disney...Great partnership IMO - Dave

It's the same reason the Pixar acquisition didn't happen until Iger became CEO. Eisner definitely deserves his accolades for pulling Disney out of a disastrous tailspin and breathing fresh life into it, but Iger is definitely an awesome CEO and has been taking Disney in incredible new directions. - Experiment818 1598.0 #47 2:19PM

I agree with vincentchase on this. I too have mixed feelings about this as a fanboy and huge Star Wars fan. And like all of you I'm also a big Disney fan. And like most true Star Wars fans I was very disappointed with episodes 1-3. Maybe Disney can redeem the franchise. Who wouldn't need to be redeemed from the likes of Jar Jar Binks? As long as they follow the story line that's already out there and not tick off alot more fans by doing a complete u turn, then they should be fine. Oh and Disney, please don't jump on the reboot bandwagon and defile the original trilogy by redoing the whole thing. If anything redo episodes 1-3 if possible, I think you'll find a lot of grateful fans. Lol! Please don't let us down Disney. You've inherited a precious thing. Will the force be strong with you? We'll see. - DarthMickey

I am in total shock. I think Disney has been very respectful with the Marvel franchise and I trust they will do the same with the Star Wars legacy. In my humble opinion, I don't think Lucas ever got over the fact that episodes 1-3 were not received well by critics and the public. He poured everything into those movies. Though I had mixed feelings about some of the casting choices he made and some plot points, I have come around. I love all the movies and see how they build off each other.
