Today my hubby and I are going to the parks without our kids. I feel awful and have never gone without them but we're celebrating our 7 year anniversary.
Don't feel guilty it's your anniversary. It's completely different without the kids. Just enjoy the experience! - ShariRenee

I know the feeling, but it will pass. You are celebrating your anniversary , today is set aside for you and your husband no matter where it is. You picked DL. Your kids win too because they are benefitting from having two parents who still love each other. I see it as a win-win situation! We did that for our 15 year anniversary. We did a character breakfast and thought we would move faster also but we didn't. We actually went slower and enjoyed the smaller details of disneyland more. You will have an amazing time I'm sure. Happy anniversary😃 - Tinkerbellmom4

You and your husband deserve this time together, focus on enjoying your time with him, not on what your kids are missing out on because they will be back to the parks again, they aren't missing out on anything. A grown up trip is a completely different experience from a trip with your kids, so don't compare the two. Enjoy your day and happy anniversary!! - Linzee

My wife and I did that for my birthday. It was nice. You do miss them, but not having to worry about when to eat, where to eat and making sure they don't get ran or having to push the stroller makes for a great experience that most parents don't get for a while. - BakoDisneyDude

We did that last year for our 10th. We felt real guilty at first but we ended up having a great time that I'll never forget. And the kids had a great time at the babysitters too. Just make sure you plan a fun day for the kids - Philliprocks

I know the guilty feeling. My hubby and I went without the kids for our anniversary a couple of years ago. It is a much different experience! In a good way! I loved the slower pace, enjoying the atmosphere, people watching... You will love it! Don't forget to pick up anniversary buttons at city hall!

Try to not feel guilty. Your kids will appreciate the parks even more next time. Don't make a big deal about it in front of them. After all, it's just the two of you going on a date. It just happens to be at Disneyland.
