Last year at the Mickey party. Oh how I miss Disneyland, we had annual passes and we decided as couple to stay away for 1 year since our kids were not appreciating it as much as they use to :(. We made such wonderful memories as family and can't wait to do it again come April. Has anyone else made this difficult decision to stay away.
I know some other people that did that because their kids didn't appreciate it. They said it was tough. Hopefully they'll appreciate it more! - mousejedi

My 10 year old has a little of that and I know a lot of it comes with him getting older.😞We try our best as parents. Enjoy your trip in April. - RadiatorSprings4Ever

Yeah, I think a lot of kids go thru that stage where's it's not cool to love Disney or something that their parents love. Our older 2 kids, esp. the boy, went through that for a time. But guess what...the boy went to Disneyland without us this summer! They always come back :) - mouseprincess

Get the passes for yourselves and get the kids a babysitter. No reason you can't still enjoy the park with your spouse and have some time alone together. - MousekaNinja

We did the same thing! Our boys (14 & 11 1/2) just got to experience the racers for first time...and they had not been in park for a year! They are now begging to go!!! It was a good thing! - RoyannaF

Disneyland is an expense, once a month weekend trips for us were averaging $600. Our 11 year old just wasn't appreciative anymore and her attitude stunk so we are on a break until next Spring. Last trip was early August. I miss it terribly. - Linzee
