Do not think of it as a bad thing. You were blessed with a beautiful child that just so happens to have a little special attribute to him. I have a brother who has Downs and as much as it saddens me, everytime he laughs or smiles it absolutely brightens my day because I know it's true. I am In the middle of hving my son assessed for autism, i know how emotionally draining it can be.It can be very difficult to cope with the initial diagnosis, but now that you have that diagnosis you can get him started on the treatment he needs. So glad you and your little man have the parks to help you through! I have a much younger sister who was diagnosed when she was 2 and I remember vividly taking her to the parks during those early years of it. It was difficult sometimes and embarrassing too occasionally but her absolute love for all things Disney brought a whole new magic to the day. At this time my daughter was assessed by the school with "autisic like ways" so we are have our first appt 2morrow with the dr to see what our next step is to get a diagnosis. I know its hard and we worry about them and their future. But I truly believe that everything God throws at us is for a reason and its nothing that we cant handle. Not sure if you have a Guest assit card. This def makes the trips with me and my daughter sooo much more easier and def make the day less stress on her. And we both are able to enjoy.
