News ## This year at the Big Thunder Ranch petting farm we will have two new additions to the family: a miniature Hereford cow and a black lamb. They will be in the area starting mid-November (I'd guess sometime close to the start of Holiday season). The pardoned turkeys and Santa's reindeer will not be available for viewing this year. I can't wait to see pictures of the new animals! (Taken from The Hub, the CM website)
They should name the cow Richard, as in Richard of Hereford from Shakespeare's Richard II 😀 nerd moment. - ladylikesdisney

This is kind of sad. Although, I remember overhearing people complaining about the smell of the reindeer last year when I was there. Didn't bother me, but wondering if this has something to do with it. 'Course, I can't imagine a cow smelling much better but what does this suburban girl know?! :) - mouseprincess

I didn't even think of that, however they are animals and it is in a petting zoo location. Can't keep it smelling like roses all the time. Even Main Street sometimes ends up smelling like a barn, but it just reminds me of the county fair at home. - IDVandalSkipperCM 1291.3 #63 9:39PM

Cattle do not have the extra glands that reindeer have, so no, they will not have the same smell. I have to say, sometimes I would rather smell cattle than some of the people we run across in our everyday life! LOL - mrscttlemstr 236.9 #1144 9:18PM
