For MW parents, how old were your kids when you stopped using a stroller at DL? I'm contemplating going today with my 3 year old without her stroller. Yikes!

as a mama...take the stroller unless you wish to carry a sleepy child. Great place to stash snacks, too. Tie a scarf on handle for quicky identification, as strollers are moved around by CMs. - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5214.7 #17 10:42AM
^this. I was sad to give up the stroller, mostly because it would carry so much of our stuff! - Bo22  387.2 #533 11:53AM
Agree :o) - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz  1142.1 #137 11:55AM
I agree...my son is 4 and it has come in handy for him falling asleep, carrying snacks, souvenirs, extra clothes and a blanket - lilo84  377.0 #550 12:21PM
Agree as well! It'd be like going from a suburban to a 2 door coupe. Total downsize in available space. - Roboito  317.0 #744 1:34PM
We purposely bought a balloon to make finding it easier. HMACIF isn't kidding; we would come back after 25mins at a ride and it had been moved! Balloon or scarf, totally helpful - templeclan  54.8 #4324 12:32AM
I'd bring it unless you are prepared to do a lot of carrying when the little one gets tired. I wish I could use a stroller forever, just so I don't have to carry all my stuff! Have fun! - MeridaFan  3522.9 #33 10:43AM
With in a couple of hours, my high energy 5 year old princess was tired. She is typically an energizer bunny so I thought she would be fine because she hasn't used a stroller since she was 3....I was wrong. Unless you want a tired cranky little one, bring the stroller. Besides it is great for holding stuff too. - CinderellasMom  264.5 #1139 12:33PM
Now I'm definitely going to use the stroller for as long as we can. I can't believe I even thought about not taking it today. MWers to the rescue again ;-) πŸ‘ - Emlovessmallworld  67.2 #4024 11:49PM
I can't remember when I stopped using a stroller at DL. I was too young. - IMissDisney  1205.7 #126 10:39AM
At 3 and a half we stopped taking the stroller.. Hes now 4 and a half and loves his freedom ξ„…. Depends on the child - DisneyMe2Death  875.0 #186 10:41AM
Take the stroller !! I used it for my 4 year old and even my 7 year old wanted to use it lol - jmza4  266.0 #31532 10:41AM
Our boys are four and we still use the stroller mostly for evenings and naps. Plus we use it to carry our stuff so we don't have to wear the back pack. - Roobug  4.1 #21711 10:46AM
Ok, great advice and now I'm convinced to take it. I knew I could count on you guys. Thanks all. - Emlovessmallworld  67.2 #4024 10:47AM
have a great time! - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5214.7 #17 10:52AM
I believe it was at 3-1/2 or 4 that we started limiting the use but it was gradual & over time...probably 6-12 months until we abandoned it. Just beware that kids tire easily since they run & jump & all sorts of other things early & throughout the day. When evening comes around, they're beat and want to go home. We still have this issue so we try and go later to stay later (we are APs so we're not limited by time). - SergZak  3125.8 #38 10:53AM
My youngest was 5. I find it helpful to have the extra storage. But I have to say I LOVE being stroller free know!! Plus like my husband says...the kids really are never in it....and it gets in the way. But my kids arent stroller sleepers....they party all day at Dland :) - QueenRobin  115.5 #3198 11:19AM
I used a stroller for the whole year (we had annual passes) when my son was 3. We didn't get passes again till his 8th birthday but I stopped using a stroller when my son was somewhere between 4-5. There was no way my son would've survived Disney without a stroller at 3. - aidensmama  340.1 #641 11:26AM
My sons are 4 & 6 and in one of my previous post they were both asleep in it. It's good for stashing stuff and when they're not in it we just park it an come back for it hours later. They fell asleep around 11:30 so we had about an hour and a half of just enjoying Disneyland at night on our own. - philliprocks  1105.1 #147 11:49AM
First took my son at 2, and did not take a stroller. - Lelundrial  556.3 #330 11:50AM
I'm local so my daughter and I normally take short trips. She's super high energy and I found when I have her walk she tires herself out and usually tends to behave better in line. I stopped using it around 3. The only time I really use it there now is if we are going a full day or we go late at night. And that's only cause she's heavy now and I'd die if I had to carry her around if she falls asleep. - Nicole  380.2 #544 11:52AM
I take it STILL & my daughter is 6😜lol it's nice to put our sweaters & snacks & whatever we buy there but if it's for a short time then I think you should be ok - ParadiseFallz  22.0 #6377 12:11PM
My son is 3 and I always take his stroller unless we are doing a quick trip. He gets tired and naps in it. - thestalkerNIN  362.4 #579 12:13PM
I want to say 6 but in reality I'm pretty sure she was 7. (For those reading this, please don't judge me, we had our reasons and if she didn't want to ride she didn't have to). - Linzee  1038.5 #161 12:16PM
Lexi is almost 9 and I still bring my stroller...let them judge away! She's really shy and needs time to herself. Its like her little hideaway! We all have reasons and people shouldn't judge, just because kids look normal doesn't mean they have some other things going on. :) - Minnis2Society  369.9 #565 12:24PM
Let them judge! There is a lot of mile to walk around DL. My Nikeplus showed we walked 10 miles before our day was over, and before we started walking to the parking structure. With that said, we don't do DL without the double stroller. We stow our food , and sweatshirts in the back while my little guy rides in front. By evening my seven yr old can hop in the back when she is too tired. We all can enjoy DL when everyone is happy, and comfortable! DL is one of those places that you can get away with sitting in the stroller when you are older because it is a lot of walking. Oh, we also stow our ponchos so we could go on Splash, at night without getting too cold! - 7mouskedoodles  361.0 #585 2:21PM
Haaa thanks you two, if I could I would 'like' both of your comments. - Linzee  1038.5 #161 3:40PM
I used a stroller for my 3 yr old it's worth it! - lisaw  139.0 #2799 12:21PM
My daughter was 5. But even when she was six she still would ask to get one to ride. Little people feet get tired easily. - PrincessAuroraMomma  527.0 #357 12:29PM
I'd say 5-6 at a minimum, then evaluate your child's needs. - mswendybe  193.7 #1977 12:32PM
I'd say 5-6 at a minimum, then evaluate your child's needs. - mswendybe  193.7 #1977 12:32PM
We used a stroller for our boys until they were both 5. Definitely came in handy. - proudcanuck  478.6 #401 12:44PM
We stopped using the stroller at 5 years old. My little one decided he wanted to walk Instead of riding in the stroller. It made for very long evening we stayed all day, but it was so much easier not to have it with us. - Arielkitten13  148.2 #2637 12:48PM
Last year when we brought our son to Disney for the first time I didn't bring a stroller he was 4 at the time and a very energetic kid! He went one full day but complained he was tired constantly. The next 4 days we rented him a stroller and he was in heaven and so was I! I didn't have to carry any bags or anything with us! - Disneymomab  31.2 #5390 12:49PM
We stopped using a stroller around 7. But we really brought it mainly to lug stuff and then when it got late the twins would crash in it while my oldest and I rode Splash Mountain over and over!!!! - chuswo  376.8 #551 1:38PM
DO THE STROLLER! We did a 3 day trip with our 5 yr old and we didn't bring one the first day. Lesson learned, we got one for the next two days. He wanted to be carried around a lot and it was no bueno on my bf's back. - mochamistie  273.2 #1047 1:57PM
My daughter will be 6 on our next trip in November. I will not leave home without the stroller! She just cannot handle all the walking. - PoppinsWoo  301.6 #828 2:07PM
I can't remember her age, but I remember thinking, " where am I gonna put all my stuff?" I do recall it was not a matter of her not being able to handle the walking. But for a 3 year old, I would definitely take it! πŸ˜„ - ElectricMayhemMom  1040.1 #160 2:58PM
Lol, I am noticing that a lot of parents are the ones who don't want to give up the strollers, not the kids! If you're primarily using it to store stuff, they rent lockers for that. Otherwise, you may be unnecessarily clogging up the walkways with your stuff. 😜 - bluefairy  643.3 #277 3:20PM
My fave is when there's a five year old in the stroller, squirming and whining to Get out πŸ˜‚ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  578.2 #319 3:29PM
Darn straight!! It stinks going to the mall now, too!! Where do I put my triple half caff Chai latte?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5214.7 #17 3:36PM
β˜•πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  578.2 #319 3:37PM
must.sprout.2. more.arms - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5214.7 #17 3:41PM
Lol, I think you are misunderstanding what some of us are saying. We aren't keeping the strollers against our children's wishes, and trying to save a buck to avoid renting lockers. It's the opposite. After a long day of walking they are glad to have a Place to rest their tired legs. By the time theycan handle a whole day of walking they can tie their sweatshirt around their waist and carry their own water bottle like everyone else. Maybe if I didn't have kids yet I might have your opinion, but one day when you have a young one I think you will understand!😊 For now, may you enjoy the parks as much as we do! - 7mouskedoodles  361.0 #585 12:07AM
Oops! My comment was in response to Bluefairy, but it showed up in a different spot! Sorry! - 7mouskedoodles  361.0 #585 12:09AM
Yes, yes, yes!!!! So glad I took the stroller today. I thought it was gonna be a short trip but with all the fun, we made it an all day-er. Plus, we ended up buying stuff so the basket was HANDY. - Emlovessmallworld  67.2 #4024 8:20PM
I tried to stop when my boy was 3, I regret it so much because he got tired after a couple of hours and I lost him twice in the morning because he wouldn't stop running, he's better now and we no longer use a stroller and he just turned 4 - TINO  379.2 #545 8:30PM
I stopped at age 6, I was going to the parks I know I'm going to have to leave earlier because its hard for him to last long - MarshaMouse  4126.1 #25 8:35PM
6 Its the walk from the parks that kills your back. - Dizkid  362.4 #580 8:46PM
STROLLER, STROLLER, STROLLER!!!! My lil guy is 4 and wouldn't dream of not having a contained area on wheels to hold him back from running, give him a place to sleep if needed as well as carry all of our junk. - ChurroChomper  148.0 #2638 8:50PM
6 here too. I have a 3 year old now and there's no way I'd take him without a stroller. He's clingy and always wants me to carry him and I'm not allowed to because I have chronic costochondritis. - moomooluvr  293.2 #885 8:54PM
We so glad we brought an umbrella stroller with us when my younger one was 4. There was so much walking even us adults feel tired also. And we loaded lot of stuffs on it like jackets, bottle water, backpak, etc . Really appreciate we had it, saved our backs! Even my 7 years old wants to rest on it. Can't image without it. - RapunzalK  196.4 #1947 11:22PM
Bring it. I milked it out as long as I could. I miss the storage and having a cup holder. Three is way too young to expect them to walk all day. - HalfCaff  435.9 #453 11:32PM

I heard a law was passed this year that permitted dogs to be allowed in any outdoor dining patio area... someone should look into if this applies lol ... - therealJackandSally  79.5 #0 7:08PM

http://cchealth.org/eh/retail-food/dog-law-faq.php Β  I know folks love theiri pets but I still do not think this is sanitary Β from a food perspective. See the url for CA law. Unless they provide a designated pet area outside, dogs cannot lick the plates/utensils, who cleans up after a dog accident......No pets in at a restaurant for now (service dogs are the exception). Disney is excellent with their food cleanliness in the parks per the Public health inspections. DTD does not fare as well per Retaurarant inspection. Check the Health Care Agency for the current restaurant inspections. As a Public health nurse I always check to see who is keeping clean in their kitchens. Diners beware! - Plumiegirl  8617.4 #3 10:42AM
i asked for MW meet up discount on 3/31 and nobody working knew what I was taLking about but they did give me an ap discount - MelodyMouse  4020.4 #26 4:22PM

unFORECAST for the week of Monday April 27, 2015

CROWD PREDICTION: Should be a slow week. Keep in mind Disneyland closes early on Thursday (7:30pm). The Historical Crowd Index shows in the 50s during the week, then starting Friday it rises to the 70s. Enjoy! - Admin Apr 29, 2015 1:38PM

We have always noticed that Saturdays are better than Sundays! We always come on the weekend and say we want to leave at dinner time on Sunday, but always leave by 11-12 because there are so many people. We love Saturday!! - 1Princess3Princes  373.0 #559 5:39PM
I agree. I think it has to do with most passes being blocked - PoohSizedGuy  18.5 #6944 11:53PM
I love these posts!  I do have a question/request/suggestion...is there a way to only show the 3-4 most recent posts?  It's a lot to scroll through. @@Admin - TiggersAndTinks  123.0 #3039 5:08AM
