If any of you ever have an annual pass expire before you get the time to renew it, don't worry! Yesterday I went online to renew my son's pass and almost cried when I discovered it expired 2 days ago. I have a trip coming up in 2 weeks and hated the idea of paying the $87 down to get a new pass but I called the customer service line and was informed that if a pass expires, we have a 30 day grace period from the expiration date-to renew without being required to pay the down payment. YAY! I love Disney! And thanks Madsdad for giving me the hope that a CM would help me. It really eased my nerves.**UPDATE: this might be bad news for some and I'm sorry for that. If you are in this same situation and are going to renew...you have to do it in person at the ticket booths :(

Is this really true. Our APs expire during our next trip. Can we stay an extra day? - kskating

Huh? Are you planning to renew during your trip? They will not let you in on an expired pass, but if you let it expire, you still have a grace period in which to renew. - bluefairy 627.3 #174 12:56AM
Our last day of our trip is the last day our passes our good for. We are not renewing. During the 30 day grace period can we use the passes? Sorry if this isn't clear - kskating 377.5 #361 6:44AM
No. Once your passes expire, you must renew in order to gain access to the magic - LaPearleNoir 574.0 #192 6:57AM
It's a 30 day grace period to renew, not an extension of your expiration date. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 7:16AM
No extra days. You get blacked out from park entry until you renew. Then they give you 30 days extra to renew without a down payment. ( During that time you have worthless plastic). - MeridasHair 319.8 #523 7:59AM
No you cannot use the passes during the grace period. It just is a window to renew with the discount - Pixarprincess 531.4 #215 8:08AM
My pass expired by two days. I went on-line to renew. All my info was there on my pass. When I clicked the renew button, I got this message in RED that I would be issued a new number. It did not give me any type of grace period my old pass info disappeared and I paid $87 downpayment. - chela83

Sorry to hear that. Next time you renew and there's an issue, call and talk to a live CM so they can take care of you. - DisneyRose 240.8 #1104 7:37PM

This is probably a dumb ?...but we never renew and just start over with a new pass our next trip. Am I missing out on something by not renewing instead? Thanks! - MinnieMousewife 570.4 #194 7:09PM
I think you save like $20 per pass. For me it's that safety blanket of having an AP lol. I wish Oregon could do the monthly payment! - madsdad 1130.0 #72 7:13PM
Yay, glad this info will come in handy for you :) - DisneyRose 240.8 #1104 7:41PM
Yeah that's a great point it is always sad after ours expire! I was beyond happy when NorCal got monthly payments, maybe they will offer to other states too! 😊 - MinnieMousewife 570.4 #194 7:42PM
