Dinner at Jiko Place at the Animal Kingdom lodge from my last trip….Head Chef at Napa Rose, Andrew Sutton had suggested that I try this place out as he really enjoyed the different flavors and unique menu items and he was right…Appetizer was a Grilled Wild Boar Tenderloin Mealie Pap, Chakalaka, White Truffle Oil, and Micro Cilantro, it was kind of like a ragout with a cheese which was really good and tender. Not gamey at all, very good and tons of flavor….Seared Barbarie Duck Breast Potato and Spinach Masala, Royal Trumpet Mushrooms, and Port Emuls ion. I really liked this dish as it had a ton of different flavors that were very new to my pallet and every bite was an experience on its own. I don’t usually take pictures of butter but this butter which looks like ice cream was amazing and was accompanied by fresh Nan bread…The butter was a tandoori butter with all sorts of flavors..The wine list at jiko was something else..They have the largest wine selection of wines from South African anywhere in the United States….not knowing my South African wines, I let them decide and they gave me a bottle of Chakalaka 2009 which was a mildly spiced red wine which was good but id probably not get it again….So if any of you are visiting WDW and like an adventurous 5 star dinner with some very unique menu items and flavors, I higly recommend checking out Jiko

Boma was good but not as spectacular as everyone made it out to be...The two things that I liked the most was the soups and the salads..They had an awesome curry soup, mulligtani and seafood stew...Same with the salads..best one was a watermelon avocado and cheese salad..very unique and flavor full....The meats were just MEH IMO, they had a really good bobtie but I would not go back..not a fan of buffets but for a family I could see if being a perfect combination of great flavors, unique choices and something for everyone - Dave 8638.5 #2 1:37PM
Totally agree with you. We had our little nieces with us. So more variety made happier kids!! - Willierose 1187.1 #68 1:41PM

Animal Kingdom lodge..I relaly liked the theming and the animals outside your room but I doubt I will stay there again..To far away from Epcot and Magic Kingdom - Dave 8638.5 #2 5:17PM
Oh I'd love to stay there, even if it's just for a few days and there stay somewhere else cheaper. - TrueFromOzLovesDisney 312.2 #546 5:40PM
